Aaron Low is a renowned speech pathologist based in Canada, he was recently asked who he'd like to work with

Whose voice box would you most like to get your hands on? I want to treat Paul McCartney, because I think he's still got it. Singers like McCartney have amazing, genius skills--but they don't exercise their voices. It's not about aging, it's about voice management. My dream is that Paul calls me up and asks if I can make his voice sound youthful, so he can hit the high notes in "Hey Jude" like he used to.

http://torontolife.com/culture/music/aaron-low-speech-pathologist-qa/ I think it would be worthwhile to start a petition to make this meeting happen . . perhaps there's someone here who can reach someone close to him, either someone at Capitol Records or MPL or maybe his manager Scott Rodger of Quest Management/Maverick

Meh, Paul has far more money and leisure than any of us will ever have. If he wanted to do something like this, he would have by now. Or maybe he has and didn't like the advice he received. Or maybe he just accepts the inevitability of aging and knows his voice will never be what it was like years ago, so why fight it? Heck, there are some songs that are arguably better now than when he was younger, like Yesterday and Blackbird - the nostalgia and sadness of those songs has a far greater depth when sung by his aging voice. Bottom line for me is that if he still enjoys belting out Maybe I'm Amazed, and if there are thousands of screaming fans who still get something out of it, then what's the problem?

Well, that is very interesting, that someone like this Aaron Low has this wish. I believe this man is right and it's not so much about aging, but more about technique.

Look at Paul's hair and tell me he's accepted the inevitability of aging This is a pragmatic approach for a sustainable future

Making the claim about him being able to sound like what he did when he was in his 20's is a bit far. But however I do agree with getting techniques on handling the voice, like Elton John has had quite a big voice change & at points seemed like he was struggling with it but in recent years he's sounded great as he's handling it pretty well, he was amazing when I saw him in June!

I saw Elton back in june too, took him a couple of songs to get warmed up but once he had he was great, voice lower of course than the glory days but thats fine in my book all part and parcel of getting old.

I find that is Elton is in a good mood and pysches himself up he sings alot better, its all in the mind. no doubt Paul could apply some techniques but I dont think he cares, similar to not playing certain parts of the world cause he has nothing to proove and will always have an adoring audience

Press!!! That's It!! Right There!!! Yeah!!! Should have been a #1 hit!!!

Funny to see this thread near the top again after four years? The cancelling of Paul's recent concerts due to the pandemic must at least have helped off-set the decline of his voice, which is something positive. I can't see it ever improving though as the damage has already been done. If it doesn't get any worse then at least that's fairly encouraging.

That's one way of looking at him not using singing voice this past year. But one could also say that by not using it, it may have deteriorated more. Most singers need a few songs to "warm up" & he hasn't been doing that much at all.

Oh I don't know, he probably sings while taking a bath.  And of course if he's been recording lately?  I'm sure Paul wouldn't let his vocals get too rusty from lack of use.

Heck, why I have a paralyzed vocal chord and its so bad those voice recognition phone robots cant even understand me. I still sing along to songs throughout the day. When you love music it's difficult not to.

Now I'm really wondering if Paul sings along to songs throughout the day? Does anyone know?
