Birthday......thanks for the Beth tracks. I noticed that Lauren looked very shy and nervous with Weller , but the second the song started it seemed to dissapear

Glad you enjoyed Lauren's gig. Judging from her setlist, what kind of stuff can we expect on her debut album? More songs like the ones on her EP, or a mix of originals and standards. All good soul music, no doubt.

She didnt do any covers as i know of. The stuff was from the ep ( which i havnt got yet....i was hoping she would be selling them ) and similar. She had a guitarist and drummer with her, and she still called it a accostic tour, so i assume the lp will have a full band on.

I mentioned on another post about her touching a electric bulb in her vid....well, she spilt water on her electric keyboard......someone needs to have a word with that girl There was only about 15-20 there which is a shame , but you would not have got many more in anyway. Its good to see artists learning to perform and build up a following the hard way instead of those wasters on x factor. This was typical of the night ( she NEARLY forgot her lemon shaker )
        found this too

Wow! "Soften the Blow" is just gorgeous. Thanks for posting these. I am definitely getting her album. Shame she didn't have more to see her, but like you say it helps artists build a following. The Beatles used to play gigs with only a few people in when they started branching out from Liverpool, and it didn't do them any harm. Yeah, you definitely need to have a word with Lauren about health and safety around electrics.... :

Love Cloudbusting - great song. Kate's great, classy and kooky all at the same time. Dave Gilmour spotted a real talent there. Nice tracks by the Staple Singers. Can tell that's a Curtis song, can't you.

Dynamite album, "moonraker".....I remember being very addicted to it when I was living in Boston when it came out... just great. Good memories associated with it....one of which was dating a guy who was doing an album with Steely Dan .. I had the amazing opportunity of watching them rehearse for a whole weekend...just incredibly talented fellows! :

Working now. Love her new songs. Thanks for posting that Moggy. She's still got a great voice. Remember seeing her live with Everything But The Girl in Harrogate around 20 years ago. Tracey's on Later with Jools Holland tomorrow night (Tuesday) and Friday, so looking forward to that.

Tracey wasn't on Jools' show tonight in the end, although he promised she'd be on the full 65-minute show this Friday night. Definitely one to look out for if these songs are anything to go by.

Alison Moyet. I have only seen her perform live once, as one of the support acts to David Bowie on his Glass Spider Tour, back in 1900 and frozen to death. She was awesome.
