Sean Lennon's new album is pretty great!

I haven't liked much of his stuff -- mainly because of his nasally vocal-style, but it looks like he's pulled out all the stops with his new album Midnight Sun. You can listen to the entire album at NPR's website: http://www.npr.org/2014/04/20/303389511/first-listen-the-ghost-of-a-saber-tooth-tiger-midnight-sun

The following is solely my opinion! Very nice! Track One is a solid up-to-date Alt Rocker. Much of the album reminds me of deep album groove Psychedelic 1968, for instance, "Wheels of Fire" by Cream. Not the melodies mind you, but the approach. Much of this is not easily accessible music to all listeners, but I like it. There are for sure several surprisingly accessible tunes, but I have no track listing to refer to. For "Beatle Heads" I might point to the approx. 23 or 24 minute mark and the song with the lyric "So be my Gypsy". You'll know it by it's traditional nostalgic sound. And the couple of songs which follow that track are similarly listenable on first impression. I'm also not taken by everything that Sean does, though his song, "Dead Meat" is wonderful. Don't let the title repel you. This is "Dead Meat":

"Dead Meat" is definitely musically interesting-- sounds good to my ears. Now I'm wondering if what grates me, though, is his vocal or the apparent auto-tune? Solid song, regardless.

I really want to hear this after all of the cool press

I've listened to a few tracks on youtube and rather impressed, so I will soon purchase a copy of this. Audi, I too agree with how you feel about Seans singing voice. I heard a few songs from Friendly Fire and wasn't overtly impressedand some lyrics made me cringe but TGOASTT songs I have heard really are rather good. AND he's doing a UK tour in September and I have bought tickets to see him play in Brighton in a rather small venue. Hope it's good!
