SusyLuvsPaul:
Thanks, Sgt. Pepper (I wish I had a diet Dr. Pepper, LOL) I did see one sound check list reported elsewhere, but for the "brief Ukulele" it said "brief ukulele--grandma"--what was that? A snipped of a song about a 'grandma' ? Thanx for info, tis a mystery
Maybe this Moby Grape song?
Was that it? Any of you sound checkers? Met the drummer from Moby Grape at a David Lynch Paul and Ringo bash once. -

Did anyone else notice his shirt? I remember before there was a fly on them, this one looked like it said Paul or PMC or something? None of my pictures with it showing are clear enough for me to be certain.
I have some close ups which I have also viewed enlarged, and there was nothing on his shirt. It did have piping around the edges. I also noticed that when his shirt was unbuttoned that it showed off his chest very nicely. *swooning* (but no hair!!) I was 4 rows in front of you. My "cry" song was "And I Love Her" because it reminds of the scene in A Hard Day's Night when he sings it, with the camera VERY close up. Sounds like you had as great a time as I did!!
I thought maybe I dreamed it, so went back to my pics. Most of the time his guitar/strap is covering it, but you can see it when he's playing the uke. Still not sure how to post a picture here, but created a picasa album with the 4 pics and here's the link: https://picasaweb.google.com/118035311194925515930/PaulFresnoShirt?authkey=Gv1sRgCIHX1_Cv9MOD4AE It's near his belt buckle -- don't judge me
Wow...you sure are right. It does look like it says Paul. I noticed Abe's drumhead with 1on1. Looks terrible. I should volunteer to design a logo for it! haha...

Paul got rapturous reviews for the Freso opener. Compare that to Bruce Springsteen, who's getting mixed reviews from critics for doing a show "for diehards only" and angering most fans because he's not doing the specific songs the superfans want on the one hand, but alienating the more casual fans on the other, so he's getting it from all sides.
Just to step in on Bruce here, he is not angering "most" fans. Yes, there are many who are unhappy with this tour because he is not playing certain outtakes or making more changes to the setlists than he used to. But there are many fans who are enjoying the current tour for what it is, which IMO is a stellar performance of a great album as the centerpiece of a 3-1/2 hour show. And many "casual" fans who are enjoying these shows as well because they contain the hits that they want to see, including many of the songs that are part of the album. Basically, I think these setlist debates are the same; people who feel disappointed about what Paul (or Bruce or whomever) is playing have a right to their opinion, whether they have been a fan for 1 year or 50, and whether they have seen 1 show or 300. And people who are enjoying the shows for what they are also have a right to how they feel, again, no matter how many times they have seen Paul. I don't think it is a debate or argument that anyone can win. It's just how people feel and the differences may always be there.
Excellent post.

Hey everybody! My family and myself were able to meet Paul in Fresno! This was a dream come true, and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Here are some photos I'd like to share with you all from that evening! (I do have video as well from the Fresno show, but don't know how to post them here. I usually just edit them into one long video and post it to YouTube. I'll post that link here where it's done). Thanks, and I hope you all enjoy!

Thank you very much! It definitely is a moment I will never forget "for the rest of my, for the rest of my life." I've dreamed of that happening for such a long time. When it was happening, I could not believe it was actually happening.

Hopefully that part is on video for you. I bet it is!

Well.....just got done breezing thru all these posts...whew! All I'll say is I was in shock that Paul even came to Fresno....but the people in that area were really grateful & happy for that decision! I thought that seeing him at Candlestick would've been my last time, but when Fresno was announced...well Stub Hub got my business (ugh....could not get thru TM)! As far as the actual set list, it wasn't my favorite but it was fine. First-timers (like my sister-in-law) were thrilled to hear the oldies that "Super Fans" complain about. I've been to 14 concerts....top three were Liverpool, Vegas, & the Hollywood Bowl. So I guess I qualify as a "Superfan." I still enjoy the thrill of going, even with the set list repeats, bad seats, and some annoying fans. But he's worth it.

I have yet to be at one of his concerts that wasn't a thrill and I didn't have a blast!! Play what ever songs you want (of course I have my favorites and I want to hear what I want to hear like everybody else) , BUT , most important keep on playing!! Looking forward to seeing the MAN again on this tour!! and hopefully his next tour... and his next tour...etc. etc.

This is truly amazing! Can you please tell us a little bit about what happen when they pick you to go on stage? What do you do when you wait on the back stage? Did you met Paul during the encore break on the backstage as well? Do you return to your seat after it or just wait on the backstage until the show is over?

Thank you very much! We were so thankful this happened to us. It was a dream we all had to one day meet Paul and let him know a bit of our story. We literally thought this was impossible to do. But we finally were able to share it with him! We will never forget it!

Thank you so much DrivingFan! We will definitely not forget it that moment! It was purely magical. The moment he rubbed my check was a moment I will not forget because in that instant I was thinking of "Put It There" for many personal reasons.
