When a gig is cancelled
-
Well I went to see the Killers last night 4 songs and then the concert cancelled what a bummer
-
Don't forget to send them a Thank You card.
-
4 songs and a refund?
-
What happened?

http://www.nme.com/news/the-killers/67171 The current news is that ticket holders should retain tickets to exchange for tickets to rescheduled events. Ticket holders should contact their ticket provider. Later news suggests these new dates will be in 2013: http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/175978/9 Martin

One radio wag suggested they continue the tour without their lead singer, opening by singing the song; "We don't sing with Flowers anymore"..... Martin

Cant help but feel if his voice was so bad the gig should have been cancelled before they even got to the stage?

They should have more of an instrumental repertiore. I once saw Link Wray do an entire instrumental show. I don't remember him saying a word so he may have had vocal trouble. I know Paul cancelled when he lost his voice, which is to be expected, but he could put together a wholly instrumental show if he chose to. I once arrived for a Blondie concert and the venue had been changed. I managed to arrive at the rescheduled location and caught almost all the show. I was still able to get a refund so all in all not a bad deal.

Thankfully I've only had one event cancelled ever...Nov 2010 Ravi Shankar I kid you not! He was coming downtown and I thought it would be really cool to see him once, but his health ending upturning and the whole tour was cancelled...hasn't been back since! Got a full refund.

I had 2nd row seats to Tom Jones (in the early '70's) and he cancelled because his sister was sick. Luckily, I also (for some reason) had 2 other 4th row seats for a different night so was still able to see him. Needless to say, they refunded the cancelled show.

Just remembered another cancelled show. I was on my way to a Randy Newman concert and noticed him walking in the opposite direction on the other side of the street. That was not a good sign. Turns out he had cancelled the show (2nd of two) due to poor ticket sales.

It was raining and I said to my friend that I should have got him to autograph my umbrella.

They've handled it well compared to Paul cancelling Denmark but can't help but feel for people who pay money for accommodation and travel, they don't get that back.

I know, especially travel...that adds up QUICK, especially if you are flying.

Yup, four of my Paul concerts have involved having to fly over and book a hotel, that generally costs more than the concert tickets themselves

Yep! Our flights always outweigh the concert ticket, we don't opt for any illustrious hotels so they usually aren't an issue. But, the tickets are usually more for us than for you, so that could make the difference!

We stayed in A Hard Days Night Hotel the first time we went which was pricey but it's been budget hotels since!!
