I also saw Roger Waters/The Wall last Saturday at Wembley. What a stunning show and performance.

And so onto Fleetwood Mac in Manchester, the band were great but the crowd was a horror show, dancing on seats, ale being spilled on me,a couple of fights oh dear not a night i'll look back on fondly,to add insult to injury a steward pushed my husband out of the way knocking him over to tell me to stop using my compact camera, clearly the many, many people using seemingly huge cameras had only taken them to look at through the concert and not use them,a shambles frankly from start to finish, friends who were in other parts of the arena had similar things happen to so it does seem to have been one of those nights but hopefully the bad memories will fade and i'll be left with memories of a band in top form but frankly given the cost of going that seems a long way off. Still onwards and upwards.

Lindsey Buckingham has been sounding pretty bad, vocally, on this tour. His guitar work is as brilliant as ever, though. And, plus, I'm irritated at him for allowing Christine McVie to do only ONE song when she joined them onstage last week. Lindsey is venturing into douche territory.
-
Yeah, more than one song should have been done, like letting Wyman bass up on two songs.
-
Long time, no see.

Where was this, Audi - and was there indication that she actually *wanted* to do more than one? She could obviously do as many as she likes if she'd just rejoin the group! Not sure that's enough to put Lindsey in "douche territory" for me but I'm happy enough to be convinced if there are other things?

Well, actually, he's always been a douche in my book (he likes to hit women, ya' know)*. But in regard to this McVie thing, I just think he came off a bit paranoid and insecure about the whole thing, but here's the MOJO article: MOJO MAGAZINE: Fleetwood Mac: the real story behind last night?s Christine McVie comeback. Stevie Nicks speaks in a MOJO scoop! http://www.mojo4music.com/7148/fleetwood-mac-stevie-nicks-speaks-about-christines-live-comeback/ Stevie Nicks: ?Lindsey [Buckingham] is very funny about that,? Nicks told MOJO?s James McNair. ?I think his words were ?She can?t just come and go?. That?s important to him, but it?s not quite so important to me. Much as Lindsey adores her; and he does ? she?s the only one in Fleetwood Mac he was ever willing to listen to ? he doesn?t want the first night reviews to be all about Christine?s one song, rather than the set we rehearsed for two months.? *=allegedly
-
^^ Thanks for the reply, Audi - hadn't heard about that "alleged" business. Sad to say though there are *way* too many fellows I admire who play music that have "allegedly" done the same... And interesting re the "mini-reunion": that's a real shame if he's *that* petty (and if so, why bother letting Christine do even one song then?). To be fair, I tend to agree with him if it turned into a come-and-go sort of thing but for a one-off? B*ll*x, Lindsey - let her sing/play!

I have a yearly subscription to Mojo, have done for years so im a fan of the mag..ok thats out the way so onto that interview, Cant help but feel that it was a little point scoring going on frankly,Lindsay had said something bout Stevie not wanting to a new album in another interview and now this, blah, blah we've heard it before get over it by now surely and lets be fair Mac havent been a serious recording act for a decade now (though the 2 new songs they played are pretty good to be fair) so i think these interviews,to garner no doubt publicity for sold out shows are just that a bit of PR. Now onto the thorny issue of Christine, she is massively missed simple as that its amazing that she wrote so many songs that have become almost standards that now will never be heard live again, she should have rejoined for the full tour,im 99.9% certain we'll never see them live on stage after this tour i know she has a fear of flying etc,so sail across to the states spread the tour out, make it work i suspect she'll look back at this tour as perhaps a missed opportunity. Lindsays voice was fine to be honest a little hoarse towards the end but he of course has aged and his voice with him (certainly more than Paul's for instance) but for the most part it added to the song rather than take away from it,Stevie Nicks took 3 or 4 songs to get going but when she did it was stunning, much deeper now of course but again it added to the song rather than detract from it,Fleetwood can still bang the bongo's with the best of them,John McVie is a fine bass player despite his advancing years. So a very good night i had,the crowd spoiled it for me and very nice to finally have seen them at long last even if they did tour again im not sure i would go again though, again down to the crowd and the venue.

I've been away for awhile but I've check a TON of my shows off my list! The Beach Boys back to back were very good. Not as good as the summer show, but these were festival type things. Peter Noone and Micky Dolenz was a very fun time too...Micky was eh, but Peter is a ball of fire! I'd go see him again. Got to meet them both after the show...again, Micky was eh but Peter was a ball of fire! Unfortunately, The Rascals Baltimore run was cancelled. I'm still dissapointed so, I did not see them on Oct. 3rd...poor ticket sales. However, last night was Jeff Beck & Brian Wilson. My goodness, that was a LOT of music. The best $100 I've spent in awhile. Brian has Al Jardine & David Marks in the band and these guys are really doing justice to the '66-'72 era. Some VERY unique setlist selections...Jeff Beck was an absolute monster on guitar...mind-blowing...probably the best I'll ever see. Then to have them together...OVERLOAD! There are still a lot of tour dates left...I HIGHLY recommend catching this show. I know it's an odd pairing, but it's really a great show for any fan of good songwriting and well crafted guitar work. Just one more this year...November 14th...Sir Elton John on The Diving Board tour. The album is growing on me...interested to see what tracks make the live cut...

I would go to both! Where is the show at? Get cheap seats for 7pm...and then get good seats at 9:30...Mike and Bruce have a great show going...and if it's an indoor theatre Christmas show, they'll probably pull out some deep track goodies. I saw them three times this year. Two were festival settings getting 35 song setlists. The other was just their concert getting a 42 song setlist (with intermission).

The show is at an intimate 900 seat venue in Tarrytown, called the Tarrytown Music Hall. The acoustics are amazing and every seat is a good seat. How long will the 7 PM be? My dad doesn't want to do the 9:30...

I've never seen M&B in a theatre. At most, it'll be a two hour show. They'll probably take an intermission too. I'd expect a setlist similiar or longer to the this one from when I saw them at their own concert over the summer here in Baltimore...plus a few Christmas songs too... I'm guessing 90 minutes-- 1 hr 45. Forgot only a few acts do McCartney length!

That's probably a bit more accurate. Baltimore was 2 1/2 hours. But there wasn't a second show...8-10:30pm
