      blue jay hey:

might be seeing adam ant next month

Cool, didn't know he was heading stateside!

      WixRocks!:

Yeah...and I'd still opt with Van Morrison. Although, he did come around here about 4 years ago (the last I heard of him touring at all) and it was ridiculously expensive...I did not go, as you can tell.

Yeah the cheapest tickets are £45/$72, he has to support that big band he takes around with him. I like his music very much, but he doesn't seem to use that 'Van the Man' voice we all love so much.

Well I've got another one to wrap up my 2012 concert year! MACCA! Flying to St. Louis to get my Paul fix for the year. Think I'm gonna give up on The Who, there really is just no way. Smokey Robinson is too expensive $90 or $60! Crazy! I would like to see a good Beatle Tribute band BEFORE the Paul concert though. I try to see one a year and I haven't this year!

George Micheal, Joan Armatrading, Alanis Morrisette, Madness, Those are definates for the rest of the year possibles are Deacon Blue (almost a certainty) and maybe's are Adam Ant and if i can justify the huge expense Van Morrison . Of course you can but hope Paul maybe decides to dust off the UK touring trousers and gives us our perfect xmas present,we shall see.

Yeah i used to love them back in the day saw them live a couple of times, they did the usual break up and come back and have done Liverpool for quite a few years now without a new album, but thats changing with the release of a new one called The Hipsters so to me its more encouraging to go and see new material than just a greatest hits show.

Thanks WR! 50th Anniversary tour! With Paul Carrack in his band (who seems to be doing quite well with his own shows!) Next year though. Only UK dates as of now, wonder if there's some US shows too?

I know! I saw the announcement this week and got uber jealous! I'm hoping for US dates next year of course, seems like a good time to do some. The last US tour I believe (could be wrong) was 2009 with Steve Winwood but he didn't come to Maryland or DC on that particular tour

Steve Winwood is great, has a fantastic voice! I think there may be some US dates, he's been busy with a new album so now he has time to spare. He's added two extra UK dates due to demand!

I'm getting ready to head back to Atlantic City for ANOTHER concert! I swear this is the last one there for awhile! Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors...3rd row just behind Ray, so I can watch his hands Ray is easily the biggest influence on my actually keyboard playing and skills and I NEVER thought I'd have the oppourtunity to see and hear him live in person, and can't believe how close our seats are! It is at The Music Box Theatre at The Borgata Casino and I tell ya, that joint is like a movie theatre...not a bad seat, very intimat, I LOVE it!

Saw Jason Mraz with my wife and we partied and had a great time.. when we were getting married I was into Mraz's first album, learning a lot of the songs and what he was doing and such, so he's sort of one of those fun special artists who holds a small place in the timeline of our relationship. however I must say, I wasnt thrilled with the actual quality of the songs he's got on this latest album LOVE. very meloncholy, and I don't mind that but they are boring!! wow dude, play Sleep All Day or something fun. you're way too good for putting on boring shows like that. You're the Geek In The Pink man, Wordplay for us! I give that show two stars, and thats only due to the fact my wife and I were able to have a good time regardless of the somber background music. Mraz is getting a little serious for me I miss the guy who used to write like this

that shits magical probably what they used to say about Lennon.. we want that pure pop guy back!! yeah well that guys growing up, deal with it. So I can dig. and then as the time goes by we get a little bit tired from waking and baked another marlboro mile wide

its like trying to catch the sun on the water..

Ray and Robby weren't bad....but it honestly, it wasn't quite as good as I was expecting. Of course, there were a handful of factors on and off the stage contributing to that. That was surprisingly the rowdiest concert I've been to...was not expecting it at all. The guy they have doing Jim Morrison urged everyone up to the front immediately, and the security couuldn't do a damn thing since it was just so many people that were already drunk off their rocker and just being ridiculous. The whole venue is always one price level, but it is assigned seating. So two older high-rollin' couples that had front row setas in our section, were livid and the guy got in a fist fight and they were all drug out...very unexpected! But on stage, it was strange. You could shut your eyes and it was like you were at a doors concert (eyes hust mind you, Ray and Robby look like their days are numbered...) but others were just sloppy and distorted. I always appreciated Ray's precision yet care-free nature and I gotta say...there were a few songs I've played better than he did onstage. And He read off lead sheets the ENTIRE night....that was kinda dissapointing. And they have a bass player, which sorta pissed me off as I've learned many tricks of the keyboard bass trade from Ray. But the setlist was good, and about half the set was truly rocking....I guess these guys just can't age gracefully...

If anyone was curious, here's the set...it was exactly two hours (has to be there, 9-11) but all the songs were greatly extended in the live setting... 1. Roadhouse Blues 2. Break on Through (To The Other Side) 3. My Eyes Have Seen You 4. Peace Frog 5. When The Music's Over 6. People are Strange 7. Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) 8. Back Door Man (feat. Ray's brother Rick, of Rick and The Ravens for you doors trivia fanatics...) 9. Riders on The Storm 10.Moonlight Drive 11.Touch Me 12.Wild Child 13.L.A. Woman ENCORE 14. Soul Kitchen (Ray wanted to play this, and Robby wanted to play Love Her Madly, so they held a poll with the crowd and this won!) 15. Light My Fire

I didn't think that one would be rowdy either. Nice setlist however! I'd go see them if they were around here. Though I'd go for Love Her Madly over Soul Kitchen.

I'm glad I was able to see and hear it once, but I don't think I'd go again. Not bad, not fantastic. I was rooting for Soul Kitchen....love playing that with the funky bass And of course Robby puts the SOUL in the soul kitchen Although, I think Love Her Madly is a bigger hit and probably would've gone over better...it was pretty close with the "loud-o-meter" type judging.
