I posted a video in the 'favorite video' thread, but realized that this duo needs their own appreciation thread...absolutely fabulous stuff

Add what you like (including Paul or Art solo stuff)

I love Simon & Garfunkel, I remember quite well listening to the White Album and Bookends has a child. I used to think Blackbird was on Bookends and that Mrs. Robinson was a White Album cut . I don't have all their stuff, (though I plan on it) Bookends is still my favorite.

If you want to hear something funny (or sad) - it was my 14 year old daughter who re-introduced me to the dynamic duo...LOL I hear the occasional song or two on the radio by them, but otherwise had basically all but forgotten about them ops:

There are very few songs by this duo that I don't like. They've got the lyrics, the melodies, the singing...they're the full package. I've only seen them once (during the Old Friends) tour, but what I wouldn't give to relive that night. Incredible!

One of my favorite songs: The Only Living Boy in New York...I listened to that song on repeat the entire six hour drive back to Vermont after I saw them live in NYC at the Garden.

Agree with above. Paul Simon is a fantastic writer. Definitely some of the most beautiful music to be made.

Awesome, brilliant duo. Best duo in pop-history for sure. They are at the same level as Beatles and Bob Dylan. Paul Simon is one of the greatest songwriters ever and Arts voice is just beauty. Love nearly every song of them. A few favorites: The Only Living Boy in New York Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. (perfect harmonies!!!) A Most Peculiar Man I Am A Rock Leaves That Are Green Song for the Asking America Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall Paul's solo song 'Graceland'

Good luck, I couldn't find the CD of this concert in any store today...but found it at Amazon tonight...I still can't believe that I sat on the DVD version of this for 5 years (I mentioned in another thread that I found Paul McCartney's Broadstreet video as part of a two pack DVD paired with the Simon/Garfunkel Central Park DVD at a local BJs Wholesalers for $10 only to avidly rip open the Broadstreet DVD and watch it a number of times until I tired of it while tossing the Central Park DVD in a drawer for all this time until last weekend...LOL)

Not sure if you'll be scratching your collective little heads over this - but I prefer the Central Park version of Bridge Over Troubled Water over the original...btw, it took me an hour just to figure out how to play the intro of the original on piano via YouTube tutorial lessons...My left hand doesn't like the term 'rolling octaves' - LOL

Got the boxset last year (including live in Central Park). Some of their music blows me away. When they were at the top of their game they were up there with the best. Watched a programme about Bridge Over Troubled Water not long ago and its was brilliant. One of the great albums. Paul Simon is a great songwriter.
