Aussie Greg Ham of "Men At Work" Dead at 58
-
Musician Greg Ham of the enjoyable 80's Australian band "Men At Work" was found dead in his home at age 58. "Men At Work" won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1983 and several other grammys, their biggest hit "Land Down Under" I think that's its name. The song's glory was tarnished by being ruled a copy of the Aussie children's song "Kukaberra Sits in the Old Gum Tree" but it doesn't sound like it was, to me. Detectives are investigating the cause of his demise. Ham had played flute on the band's most famous song and professed great disappointment that the song "will now be remembered as being a copy." He was praised in this article for being "a fun, good humored, good natured guy" who was very enthusiastic about the band in its heyday and "always gave the best interviews when they came back after touring."
