You sure do have a lot of great pics! He saw her at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville this past summer on her tour with Rod Stewart. She looks fantastic -- she's in her '60s now. And, by the way, he and many other Stevie fans have the same setlist issues with her that we have with Paul. With rare exception, she ALWAYS opens her shows with "Outside The Rain" leading into "Dreams." She's been opening her shows with those same two songs for almost three decades now.

I'm posting this one because I was prepared for a train-wreck when I watched it...but it's quite great! Todd Rundgren, Daryl Hall and Rob Trujillo - I Saw The Light (Live From Daryl's House 2011):

I saw her in Cleveland with Rod this summer--great show, but yeah, the setlist was a bit...bleh. 😕

I watched this on PBS when it aired...and, you're right. Definitely still has his chops in this performance. Actually, like most singers who take care of their voices, he sounded better than he did in his commercial heyday.

Not sure if he would be considered a 'great' singer but he sure does have some chops...still. Eric Burdon live 2006...great DVD!

He's definitely gotten better with age. Saw him on one of those PBS things a few years ago, and he was on fire! He's got a helluva band! Love that mid-break on this version! Great post!

I used to think it was a woman singing first, very versatile voice.

oh...you're talking about Leo Sayer. : This is where everyone's quote is needed. I wasn't following the conversation & Eric Burdon was also on PBS & I thought you meant Eric sounded like a woman.

Blame Audi for watching so much PBS.

The Gap Band's CHARLIE WILSON is the standard that defines all the New Jack Swing troubadours like R. Kelly and Guy. He is so vastly under-appreciated. The Gap Band (Live 1999):
