Recently we've noticed numerous threads being created for the sole purpose of complaining. Any complaints about the message board, moderator actions, etc, should be reported in a PM. Even if the PM is sent to the moderator responsible for the action in question, it will still always be shared with the entire moderating team and if neccessary will then be forwarded to administration by us. This is done because the moderators have nothing to hide in the work we do. What we will not do is to give out any details of users to other members who have made complaints about them to us. This information will always remain confidential. The only way members will hear about it is if the users who lodged the complaints tell the other members themselves. Another thing I wanted to say is that moderating on this forum is voluntary. The forum isn't closely monitored so it relies on users private messaging the mods with anything they see as being unsuitable and all of those reports are looked at by the entire moderating team as mentioned in the forum rules detailing how to report a post. In most cases we see our PMs before we ever see threads asking if we're online. The moderating team works only on reports recieved or anything we happen to see ourselves that is going against the forum rules. But please keep in mind that we can't possibly see every post on every thread in every forum. It has been explained numerous times before why complaints are better dealt with through pm. For anyone who may have missed it, this is why: Constructive feedback is always welcome. Abuse isn't. The mod team know we can't keep everyone happy and we expect to see a few users have a moan and groan about what they don't like, but we work many voluntary hours behind the scenes trying to strike a balance on the board presented with the information in front of us to keep things running smoothly in the best interests of the board. No member enjoys seeing threads started about them with misinformation, etc. Often in complaints threads, with all due respect to the users, not all the information is known by the user making the complaint and before one of the moderating team have had the chance to answer fairly, half a dozen other members jump on the bandwagon lodging their own complaints which have never even been raised fairly in any PM to the moderators. To be honest, these instances are usually the first time any of us moderators see these complaints. How are we suppose to deal with a problem if you members don't properly report to us what is troubling you? This not only can unfairly single moderators out but in some cases complaints threads will bring users against each other in conflict, as has happened in the past, simply because they have misinformation or incomplete information. We have also noticed that when some members cannot get their way, they make unfounded accusations against members and moderators alike ... this sadly looks like an attempt to stir up the masses and cause trouble. No good can ever come from these attempts as they only contribute to bringing the morale of the board members down. The moderators are always happy to work things out and spend a lot of time trying to keep threads open that many other message boards would have deleted immediately. Troublesome threads, where bitter arguements have broken out, have been worked on and re-instated in the past when the users have contacted the mods. We've discussed the actions to be taken amongst ourselves and through discussion with the thread starters the best plans of action have been reached. The moderators have openly asked the members to contact us in PM about any moderator action taken and any mod will happily take the time to explain why that action was taken. We will not, however, respond to the complaints publicly posted in any of the various forums on this board. This forum (paulmccartney.com) was specifically created for the members to discuss technical problems they may be experiencing, as well as for members to give us constructive feedback about the website ... not to make public complaints regarding specific threads or posts or actions taken. As explained previously, those types of complaints should be made in private via PMs to the moderating team as is indicated in the forum rules and we will continue with our practice of not answering these types of queries publicly. Above all, please remember that we moderators are human. We are not monsters who go after individual members or think that our moderatoring team is untouchable. We don't cover anything up, or sweep any complaints under the carpet. We have always been firm when we've needed to be, but above all, we always try to be fair. Our main objective has always been, and will always be, that any actions taken by us are in the best interest of the entire membership and not any individual members. This forum does not belong to a few select members ... it is Paul's OFFICIAL website. I think it's time that some members accepted this fact. We have always welcomed suggestions from users on how to make things better. We try to find ways to make things work and have been willing to try out new ideas. Some of you may be wondering why I have decided to speak out and post this. It's simple really .... it has been very hurtful to read some of the things we've seen lately. I took it upon myself to remind all of you that we are human beings ... the same as you are ... and not machines. Thank you for listening.

Hey Clo, nice post. I actually read the entire thing all the way through. So what else is new? We've had many a 'moron' here take their swings at Moderators. There have been those who like only one Moderator and have not been opposed to making that clear. There have been those who threaten them and say they play favorites. Alas, then there are those who just love to hear themselves complain and whine. Those are the ones who remind me of an alcoholic. It's everybody else's fault why they're so screwd up in the head, never taking responsibility for their own lives and their own actions. Let's blame the Moderators. I can't think of one Moderator who I haven't given a hard time to, if for no other reason than to just break chops, including you who I love. I most of the times did it jokingly. Never once would I complain or report Moderators because I wanted to stir things up here on my own. On the other hand I took my lumps because I wanted to play around. I also can't think of one Moderator who wasn't always nice to me and treated me with respect even via PM. I believe this always, this is a freakin' message board, it's not a life. There are many other REAL things going on without having to bash Moderators on a Paul McCartney board. Some people are just too blind and dumb to see. This place becomes their life and they should be pitied. Most of the old Moderators gave way to the new ones, and they do a nice job to help this place run. I'm sure there are Moderators who have their favorite members and members who have their favorite Moderator. We just don't need to put that out in the open as to hurt the feelings of the others. I think however that Tori, Rocio, Liz, Vanessa, and Chris do just as good as did Sarah, Daniel, Fiona, and Rhonda....but let's keep in mind the veteran crew had a lot more experience and they were here first. I can say that Clo is my favorite person and Moderator because i'm BEATNUT. Oh and none of the other Moderators ever gave me a Yellow Lab purebred puppy for Christmas, with papers of course!

BEATNUT.....The self-proclaimed King of this Board!

AND now the Newly Voted King of this Board.

          Thank You MY People!

Thank you so much for bumping this up. I decided to post this way back in March ... sadly enough it's still appropriate. Some of our members have very short memories.
