Paul McCartney 2016 Rumors

You would have to think that there would be another show or two scheduled inbetween the festival weekends. Maybe Vegas?
I was thinking with all that talent in one location for a week, maybe some of them will do a super secret hangout and roll some tape!

With those Mexico City rumors, maybe Paul will squeeze in 2 shows there between the 2 Indio shows, similar to what Guns N Roses just did between their 2 Coachella weekends. Vegas would be a possibility, as well, but I would think Paul would play there on a weekend. Playing on Saturdays in Indio doesn't really make that possible.
-
With the Vegas shows, that would depend on if AEG and Goldenvoice would enact a radius clause on the Indio show. In the past with Coachella, the radius clause extended to reach Los Angeles, San Diego, and even Las Vegas. The only exception to playing the radius clause is if the artists play specific Goldenvoice events in between the two weekends or bookending the festivals. Goldenvoice releases a specific animated calendar of Coachella acts playing in Los Angeles but these are only club shows. They don't allow much for the Headliners. This year, Guns N Roses played Vegas just before Coachella, but I feel like the restrictions to this radius clause would be tighter because these are far more in demand acts and the exclusivity factor goes way up. Long story short: In my opinion, Vegas may not happen in Indio doesn't sell out. If it does, then they've maximized profit and have nothing to lose with nearby shows.

Both Indio weekends are sold out. As I posted somewhere else on the boards, I know about the radius clause but I can totally see it being waived here because of how big all these acts are. "Stones, Dylan, Paul...please play our festival, you can have anything you want. "
-
The "sold-out" factor plays a big role in those things. For example, the big Guns 'N' Roses reunion was exclusive and first announced for Coachella... and in the end they played their very first gig in Hollywood (industry venue gig) and twice an arena in Las Vegas before that time, plus announced a full-blown US tour 2 weeks before Coachella.

I will be there for the first weekend. I have the GA unfortunately, so I will be far back from the stage.

No. I got thru for tickets after an hour but the seats I wanted were already gone by that time. Glad you will be there to represent!

I will be there, but on Week 2 instead. I tried for hours for the first, but in the end had to take second best!

I forgot about that. I guess that works. I was thinking of Ampletheaters that have assigned seating with a roof over the pavilion, and a General Admission lawn in the back. Unique setting for McCartney. Theater like rising seats, outdoor but more like an arena production, GA festival in the back. I know Paul played an Ampletheaters in the Chicago suburbs on the 1993 tour.

Do you mean to say amphitheatre? We have one here in Atlanta like that, but Paul always plays Philips Arena. http://www.bing.com/search?q=lakewood+amphitheatre&form=PRHPCS&pc=HPDTDFJS&mkt=en-us&refig=a45f92c666f04c9a8ac5dcadf29cef2d&qs=LC&pq=lake&sc=8-4&sp=1&cvid=a45f92c666f04c9a8ac5dcadf29cef2d

No, he did not. He did not play Chicago at all in 1993, and he's never played an amphitheatre in the Chicago area. Charlotte in 1993 may have been the last one he's played with lawn seating. Hollywood Bowl does qualify, but it doesn't have a lawn.

So no more rumors?
