Who Gets The Front Row Center Tickets? Friends, Charities?

Way, way back in the mists of 1993, I paid a scalper $500 for a pair of front row tickets in Boulder, CO. Knowing that face value was $31.50, it was still worth it for all the personal attention we got from Paul, Linda and Robbie, since I was in front of Robbie. Two fans on the other side of us bought from the same scalper the day tickets went on sale and paid $1,000 for the pair. I waited until the day of the concert. I did have back up tickets, but wanted to be in the front row in my hometown.
You made it happen!
Another avenue to the front row..........
Sounds like it was a fun show!!!

Personally, and this is JMHO, it is the young nubile well endowed scantily clad women that get the first row center seats.

Yes, I paid a scalper, but it was worth every penny. I said I would be in the front row if Paul ever played in Boulder and I was. I could have stayed home and listened. That's what I did for the Who when they played Folsom. We made the Wings sign at Linda while she took our pictures, I flashed my signs at Paul and he acknowledged every one when you are that close and Robbie was laughing at us a lot of the time. I will never, ever have that experience again. A lot of my co-workers were there because as I updated my tix, I kept selling the old ones.
I would have been in the 2nd row had I not found the front row the day of the show. But it was not 2nd row center. It was off to the side.

Today, that is generally true. They also make it to the DVD. I can assure you that night in Boulder I or my companion (a male) were young, nubile, well-endowed or scantily clad.

I just have to comment on this topic! I was recently at the St. Louis show in November and finally paid the big bucks for the front row (side) package. A curious fan next to me walked over to the center section front row and asked them how they got their tickets. Every person in the front center had been chosen from the nosebleed seats -- and not all were young and busty (believe me, in the past I've noticed that!). It made me happy that random people got a great surprise that evening...

I'm glad real fans got those seats!

There was also a couple, in center 1st row who originally won tickets through a local station near where they lived. The seats they won were in the 1st level. They heard on a news broadcast how a couples home was robbed and the lady who lived there had been saving up to buy her husband a ticket for the P McCartney concert as a present but that money was taken in the robbery. The couple who had won the tickets contacted the news station and offered their tickets to the woman who had been robbed and gave them to her. Somehow a representative from P McCartney found out about their generosity and got in touch with the station and then with the people who gave away their seats and sent them 1st row center. They told us that until they got to their seats they didn't know they were in 1st row center.

What they SHOULD have done was move you side front row people into the much sought after center section & give the people from the nosebleeds the side front row seats.

sounds much more fair to me.

If you are in the front row, USUALLY we are allowed to be at the barrier right in front of the stage, so even if you're on the side, you can get pretty close to center stage. Paul and co like to have enthusiastic people right in front-we keep them entertained.....
-
But it would be more fair if someone that actually paid for a front row ticket got the center seats rather than giving it to someone from the nosebleeds.

Always good to know that nice fans are rewarded for their generosity.

Just curious.
Who is usually in the front row, center stage for Sir Paul's concerts? Is it friends, charities, celebrities? Or is it local politicians's families, radio station or PR staff's friends, etc. Personally I'm hoping that it is charities or people pushing for a better environment on all levels along with personal friends ('cause friends make the show personal and more intimate). Being new to this forum I have noticed all the signatures that list all the shows y'all have been to, so who better to ask? So what's the story if I may enquire?
I only know from one of my personal friends. She knew someone who was friends with the drummer & she got front row center seats from her friend who didn't want to go. I guess it's all in who you know. : (
