What are little variations or emphasis that Paul has used in his voice in live performance or studio recordings that you just love? Little Richards calls these "the turns in their voice" Here are a few of mine : Winter Rose Sings in a ragged raw voice yet so tenderly, could listen to that all day Old Siam, Sir Remember catching a video of a live performance Paul was sweating and rocking a Yamaha Bass and the little part where he screws up his face as if in pain "in Scar-bour-rouuuuugghhh" The Pound Is Sinking The It didn't happen, My Heart Just Wasn't In It part towards the songs climax C'Mon People Holding and Nailing the High Notes "Mistakes" "Takes" etc

Press!!! That's It!! Right There!!! Yeah!!! Should have been a #1 hit!!!

Is it as annoying as the way he sings "the movement you need is on your shoulder" ?

Almost as annoying as the way he sings "mother Mary comes to me, spee-eeaking words of wiii-iiisdom let it beee-eeee-eee-eeeee"

The way he sings in "My soul" just fits the song so perfectly

Oh my, hate to say it, but that one is really annoying indeed. While the "don't you know that it's just you"-variation is actually pretty striking.

I don't want to turn this into a negative thread but at times I feel that he spoils what is always an awesome and rocking vocal performance of Helter Skelter with the songs last minute or so trying to sing "comindowncomindowncomindownfast" and the ad libbing.

Some of my favorite vocal twists and turns: "Bip Bop" - Some of those "Bip"s get so raw. I love how this song always makes me wanna clear my throat. "The Back Seat of My Car" - From 3:43 on. Paul kicks into his highest gear, with his vocals taking a hard turn from the rest of the song. Love it! "1985" - "Oh ohh ohh I....oh ohh ohh I-i-i..." "Beware My Love" - "Whoa whoa whoa! No, no, NO!" enough said... "So Bad" - "There was a pain, but now you're here" So Bad goes So High and it's smooth! (Same kind of thing with "Girlfriend") "However Absurd" - The up-hill climb at the end...with powerful modulation on "However"...always gives me chills how he tears that word apart. "The End" (Live) - That last "Yeaaahhhhh" that goes on forever at the very end! I can go on... It may be too soon yet, but I think even "Cut Me Some Slack" has grown on me. Especially on "Mama...let me be". He tore that one up, too!

"And your inspiration long may it last..."

Well, the ending he does now of The End is very peculiar. He holds the final A as an opera tenor, and then as a bit like an opera soprano. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! 2.47 to 2.57, a bit like VINCEEROOOOOOOOOOO lol

O contraire. He's been adding very, very high -- almost siren-like -- falsetto trills to the jam part of "Helter Skelter" lately and they are mind-blowingly marvy!

In The Beatles' BBC version of "Ooh! My Soul," I get goosebumps when Paul sings the line, Don't cha' know I'd love a lot. Actually, he kicks ass on the whole performance. Such power! Which reminds me: The host of the show cracked The Beatles up with his "Ooh, my arms" quip.
