Now this CD is a REAL fave! One day in '05, I wondered what it would be like to listen to live-CD of Macca, consisting of only songs from his solo albums. Most of the songs were from his available live albums at the time (Tripping..., Paul Is Live, Back In The U.S., etc.). I had to do some cropping of the applause to blend them: -looking for changes -driving rain -rough ride -coming up (back in the u.s.) -lonely road -vanilla sky -hope of deliverance -follow me (glastonbury '04) -figure of eight -biker like an icon -calico skies -freedom -here today -this one -my brave face -your loving flame (japan '02) -helter skelter (glastonbury '04...ok, i cheated a little) -run devil run (PeTA concert) -put it there

To celebrate Paul's birthday in 2003 I made this sampler. We gave them away as trivia contest prizes at the record store I work at on Paul's birthday. I have wanted to do this also Audi - I want to lift the live "Chaos" songs from the "Space Within Us" DVD.

If I may say so myself, I'm proud of the sequencing and continuity of that collection. And you're right: The Chaos songs from The Space Within US -- not to mention all the live versions of Memory Almost Full songs -- might mean a second disc! "House Of Wax" from Paul's '07 London show and "That WAs Me" from Paul's '07 Paris concert are a must!

Just realized you put "Growing Up, Falling Down" on your CD -- to me, that's the second-best track out of all of the '05 songs. "Jenny Wren" is the best.

Every summer when I go away on holiday, I make up a playlist (in the old days it was a mix tape) with Macca songs. I have done this ever since I was a teenager. I take one song from each of his albums - from McCartney to Good Evening New York City. I also include live albums, but not best of collections. The songs might be different from year to year. This is a really cool way to follow Pauls development while laying in the sun and relaxing!!

                                  Paul concerts:

                                  Hannover 2003
                                  Copenhagen 2003
                                  Horsens 2004
                                  Stockholm 2011
                                  Roskilde Festival 2015
                                  Herning 2016

Letting Go is from the Venus and Mars album Same Love is off Cold Cuts I also love Windedark Open Sea...sometimes I have to play it a few times in a row, because once just isn't enough... Hey Audi, I wanted to ask you about Hang Glide... I've never heard of that one?! Where do you get that one? I did some hang gliding when I was in my 20's... did Paul Hang Glide? or is it referring to something else? Just curious...

Love that song; it might be my fave from the EA album. I've been wanting to make a McCartney ballad playlist for a while...gotta give this some thought. So many strikingly beautiful ballads, so little time.

So far, these tracklists are amazingly unique! Which version of "Letting Go" do you have in this playlist? Is "Same Love" one of the Flaming Pie singles B-sides? Love "Winedark Open Sea!"

When I was in junior high, my best buddy -- a super McCartney fan who converted me to Maccaism -- had the 12" single of "Spies Like Us." "Hanglide" was one of the other songs on it. We used to do a fake radio-show back then, which we recorded, and "Hanglide" is among the songs we used as our intro/theme. Ah, memories.
