What are they all saying before "Talk" song on "Press" album, it's supposed to be Paul and Linda putting on different weird sounding English voices.
A master can highlight the phrases Sleazy instruments Half talked, half baked ideas Dad, you didn't say ok The window was open, outside was a spaceship A master can highlight the phrases It took off into the sky leaving a trail of smoke behind it All you want is a handyman and all you want is quick service Because I am a house owner I am a house owner It may be worth something someday I hear water going through the pipes I don't actually like sitting down music Music is ideas A master can tell Highlight the phrases His words to digress Grey flannel trousers Grey flannel trousers A blazer and grey flannel trousers

I think part of the spoken word intro is a very young James McCartney reading something about spaceships. Other parts in intro and through out track are random phrases which I think are said by people such as Eddie Klein (the engineer) and I think maybe John Hammel Paul's long time assistant. I actually find this stuff a bit annoying. They seem to speaking in strange voices, as a joke maybe, or do they really sound this way ???
Thanks.
I've always liked Talk More Talk. In fact, I've always had a soft spot for PTP in general. Unfairly maligned, IMHO.

I think Bip Bop Bam also... Always thought Bip Bop was maybe Mary's child pronunciation of some thing?
I love all those child-like acoustic songs. Hey Diddle is another nice one. Silly, but catchy and pretty.
I do as well Shawn, it makes me think of those happy photos of Paul and Linda and the family in Scotland. Very precious times and memories in families...always thought diddle was little?

I always liked the line, "I wouldn't make her a wooden table." The phrasing is deceptively clever. Plus, it just seems like a really funny thing to say. And I always wondered about the "I wouldn't care" line. I thought it was " I wouldn't dare" for a long time - sort of a self-deprecating comment on his lack of carpentry skills, maybe? But "I wouldn't care"? I don't get it. It's probably meaningless. He likely just enjoyed the sound of it, hahaha!!

I always thought "Mumbo" was an answer to John Lennon's critique of "Ram" where he said that it was hard to understand what McCartney was singing beacuse he was mumbling so much. I guess they weren't the best of friends at the time...

I have never heard of John's criticism of Paul mumbling on Ram. I thought it was just a general attack on it, but at that time due to the bitter feud, Paul could of produced the greatest music ever recorded, and it would of copped a pasting by John as well as many other critics. I think Paul, because of his stubborn nature, could of well responded to any mumbling criticism by releasing Mumbo as a kind of well if you think that Ram had mumbling well suck on this.

I've never heard this, either. But in any case, I think Mumbo is terrific. It's an hilarious rock 'n' roll romp.

Not sure where I picked it up, I searched the web and found a mention of something like it in this youtube video
