...officially released? (dubbed Party Mix, and has a lot of remixing involved)

I didn't think Paul ever officially released My Carnival.

My Carnival was the B side to Spies Like Us in 1985, & there was a remix on the 12" single.

            Oh, cool! Missed that.

Also a bonus cut on Venus and Mars - I'm guessing the version in the video is the 12" version (thanks for the info)

I used to have that 12" single in high-school. Just realized that I never, ever played that cut. I wonder who did this mix....

I've got that 12" single. "My Carnival" mixed by Gary Langan. One of the "Spies Like Us" mixes has lots of movie dialogue and not so much singing. I assume we'll be hearing "My Carnival" all shiny and pristine when the V&M reissue comes out. (Not my copy. Found pic on the web.)

Now that you mention it, I think I had that 12" single at one point too - but long since either lost or traded away ops:

Yep, this was my first listening of the song too. It grew on me, more as the years unfolded. Ahhh, the old days. I still get a giggle out of (the movie) Spies Like Us, too. Chevy, when Chevy was still Chevy.

Is he someone else now? I thought he was quite funny on "Community."

Correct! I found a copy of this for 50 cents at a record store some months back and was surprised to see "My Carnival" on side B.

I don't mind Community, without being a huge fan. I just prefer his 80's stuff. He had a certain affable cheek about him. He cracks me up in the You Can Call Me Al video.

He's a brilliant comic. But his inner-demons caught up with him in the '90s and made him a bitter, insufferable @$$hole ever since.
