Almost 16 years to the day he was there signing copies of Flaming Pie and Standing Stone (October 16th 1997). I had been at the premiere of Standing Stone two days before where I found out about the signing. What a couple of days!!

Going to try for a Guaranteed place? That's a brilliant "first" for Paul. Gives us living some distance away - and maybe unable to queue for a variety of reasons - a chance at least... Martin

I am tempted to enter yes, but i presume it's one entry per winner and not a pair, and it gets childishly complicated cos i do all Paul stuff with my sister (both fans for 29 years). I just spoke to her and she can't get the day off work anyway, but as well as that i got told she will kill me if i met him without her! I want to though. It may wreck the family, but there's no harm in entering is there..?

I don't work Friday afternoons, so I could pop into London from work. Not too far. I wonder what time would be best to get there by to guarantee a signing. Anyone had experience of this before? Who is going?

I did this once 7 years ago, (the overnight stay nearly killed me and my health is not great nowadays, always wanted to meet him once more though cos he had been told to hurry up before my go by john hammel, so he never said anything to me! Not a word! My sister got a long conversation though, she went before me - am i bitter?!) - back then the front of the queue had flown from America and been there 2 days (unnecessary really... all they did was make the rest of the queue have to form earlier too), by the time we met him even i'd been queuing 19 hours, i think if you weren't there by about 2am you missed out I would think it would be even harder this time 7 years on.

Holy F?.. I?d probably only be able to make it an hour before it starts, so maybe I shouldn?t bother. Damn.

I have been to 4 of Pauls Signings 1st one i went to, got 1st train down at about 6am in the morning and they shut the doors 3 people in front of me so didnt get in. The next time we happenend to be driving through london the night before and happened to drive past where the sigining would be and there were already about 100 people queueing up, so my wife droped me and i joined the queue. i was cold and tired as i couldnt sleep on the street at all but i got to meet him Next one i won a guranteed place so didnt have to queue. The last time i decided i am too old to queue all night so went down there in middle of night before the trains started running and was fine. If i dont win any guranteed ones this time not sure what i will do, i am geting too old now to camp out all night but dont really want to miss it!

Actually I don't think it's the store I'm thinking about but the newer one which is just outside Bond Street station.

On twitter they've said it's 363 HMV store which has been re opened again , so I think bond street is nearest.
