How could there be a competition winner already? I thought the only competition was the the McCartney Twitter one and they haven't announced any winners yet. As far as I know. In the BBC 2 competition they only picked people from London. As if nobody can travel to London for the event. These dealers really make me mad. I don't even want an autograph, I just want to meet him. That's an idea for Paul! It would mean more to me (and probably most fans) to just take a picture with him. It's a memory for us, not something we can flog on Ebay.

I quite agree, if i could just have a photo with him would mean more to me than a signature and would cut down on all the ebay dealers

As the BBC always carefully state when promoting their own product: "Other competitions exist" If you scout round there's loads of small comps running linked to radio stations, newspapers and magazines. We normally only spot Paul's own from the web-site, Facebook and Twitter. HMV will also be running a comp for wristbands check out their web-site - I haven't.. yet.. but now you've brought it up .. HMV said something about giving tickets away through their social media. I keep checking regularly but I haven't found anything yet. I signed up to their email list just in case. The ebay sellers are asking people for their names for a dedication now. Cheeky!!

Wish Paul's Twitterer would get back to the office and post the wristband winners. He's having far too much fun in Maida Vale at the moment so we're going to have to wait... Martin

Going by HMVs statement here on facebook loking not good for people that dont win wristbands "you need to head on over to Twitter and answer Paul McCartney's question to enter for a chance to win. If you're unsuccessful on that occasion there will be a reserve queue on the day in case there's time for Macca to see more people but we must stress that the reserve queue will not guarantee you entry to the signing. Thanks"

I'm starting to think there are only 20 tickets that will be given away to fans. The other 40 are probably not going to be given away to fans. I don't know if I should go or not. They haven't said that they will allow people to queue up overnight. I wish they would confirm that Paul is going to sign for more than 60 people.

Another chance to win some tickets by answering a question on HMV's twitter: hmv ‏@hmvtweets 26m 1/3 What is the name of the track @PaulMcCartney produced with Dave Grohl, for Grohl's documentary Sound City? #hmvNEW

This is all about PUBLICIY.... Paul seeing 20 fans - even 60 on guaranteed wristbands is not going to make the signing newsworthy. There has to be a queue and obvious committed hardship by dedicated fans, and a significant number of other fans will get a signature. In this legal-eze world HMV is just protecting itself against litigation with that disclaimer. No reason to suspect this signing will be anything other than like the many signings Paul has done before. Has anybody seen any statement that Paul will only sign copies of NEW bought that day at HMV? That sort of condition has been imposed before..... Martin

Well there is one thing I know and that is Paul always looks after his fans. I trust that he would stay later and sign autographs for those who waited overnight, but I don't like the idea that HMV are so non-committal. But, that's the way it goes. Is anyone on here planning on queuing? Thanks for the HMV Twitter update Alexio91!!

I was going to hop into London after work, but after hearing people's stories on here, I definitely won't be seen. I'd have to be waiting much, muuuuuch longer but I can only do 2pm and that's waaaay too late!

                                      The nearest to a T & C is this Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/events/249241361893987/?context=create

The legendary Paul McCartney will be signing copies of his new album, NEW at our 363 Oxford Street store on Friday 18th October from 3pm. 60 tickets guaranteeing access to the signing will be made available in the coming days as competition prizes via www.paulmccartney.com and competitions in the media and our own social media channels. In addition to the 60 customers who have won their place in the queue, we are very hopeful that Sir Paul McCartney will be able to sign more autographs and therefore we will be creating a 'reserve' queue to give customers the chance to have an album signed. However, please note, due to possible time constraints, joining the reserve queue will not guarantee a meet/signing with Paul. Places in the reserve queue will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis from 8.00am on Friday *Due to the nature of the entertainment industry, all events are subject to change without notice.

Looks like something happens at 08.00hrs - possibly the issuing of numbered reserve list wristbands? So if queueing, maybe that ought be the target time to queue for? Martin

HMV Twitter comp winners announced Thursday at noon. HMV are also sending fans to Paul's Twitter comp to enter as well so maybe Paul's won't call winners until Thursday either? Hope my employer will allow a day off at such short notice should I win one... Martin

Keep searching Local radio - local newspapers HMV are only offering 5 so looks like Paul has the lion's share with other sources getting small numbers as well. Martin
