Paul's Best Guitar Solo
-
I never start threads but watching the video for He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother got me thinking, what is your favourite guitar solo that Paul has played?
-
House of Wax. And the second solo was even better than the first!
-
I love his acoustic solo in "Somebody Who Cares." I agree that the solos in "House Of Wax" are stellar!
-
Taxman!
-
Another vote for House of Wax - amazing solos.
-
Love the Solo in Once Upon a Long Ago

Short solo on "Promise To You Girl" is pretty good IMO.

I was going to go with House of Wax but then I though it might be Rusty or Brian? I know the band played on that track.

I think at the time Rusty said Paul played the solos on House Of Wax, but live Rusty handled them. You're correct the band do play on House Of Wax.

Maybe I'm Amazed...

Have always enjoyed that one...

House of Wax would be a stand out for me. A shame he doesn't do guitar solos more often.
-
Maybe I'm Amazed. Even George Harrison said he liked the guitar work in a 1970 interview.
-
Nice to hear George said that
No 1 Taxman - unbelievable ! No2 Maybe I'm Amazed No3 Good Morning , Good Morning - ( almost as unbelievable as Taxman !)

The guitar solo (Spanish guitar?) on "Dress Me Up As A Robber" is genius. Not sure who's playing it, though.
