Ah cheers, I might have to try check them out sometime because I've only really seen the Bootleg Beatles

Revolver is much better than the Bootlegs. God, that drummer of the Bootlegs is horrible. He sounds like a yank more than a Brit. Btw, SBW is the weekend of Aug 12-Aug 14 in Dundee.

how do you tell the difference between a Yank drum-roll to a Brit one? thanx for the dates

I was told there was a Beatles tribute band called 'Them Beatles...now I've never heard of them. Any of you seen them? Apparently they are Scottish based. Normally I aint into tribute bands but always willing to give them a chance and its only because I met a fellow Beatles fan where we found out accidently we were both Beatles fans

Them Beatles are the next big thing!! Better than the Bootleg Beatles because they are younger, and have possibly more enthusiasm and drive. I've seen them 3 times and going to see them again on the 3rd March at the Glasgow Pavilion theatre. Go along! you will not be disappointed. they have their own facebook page and are on Myspace http://www.myspace.com/thembeatles oh and their Beatles guitar collection is awesome and they're lovely guys to boot and nice to talk to PS - They are Glasgow based.

Don't know bout the drumming but you can tell from his voice, lol. Wish I recorded his beginning of Yellow Submarine (yes, THAT song again). 'In the tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooown where I was boooooooooooooooooooooooooorn.' Ringo's version sucks but this BB's version sucks even more.

I think its more a case of venues, Glasgow has better venues for this kind of thing, the only realistic place for Paul to play is Murrayfield and that lost out because Hampden is cheaper....I read an interview somewhere from a few years back where they did actually consider Murrayfield but they ended up choosing Celtic Park for the cancelled gig

It would be nice for him to do a show in Edinburgh, however I wouldnt object to him doing Glasgow again or anywhere in Scotland...still better travelling within Scotland than going down south or to the states all the time.

There's more on this planet than Scotland, south of it and the States where you can go see him Why did you go to the States to see him? I know you saw him all over Europe as well. With the insane ticket prices Im pretty sure I'll never go over there to see him. Esp not after the encounter with American fans at Hampden last year (I know there are all sorts of different American fans but these scared and annoyed the shit out of me).

haha, oh dear. I can tell you many negative stories about some of the scary American fans I have seen at Paul concerts however I must say I do have friends who are a bit less crazy and know how to behave, sadly they are in the minority but they are still my friends and lovely people. The states I am reluctant to go to again for Paul but I have met some crazy European,South American and Asian fans who I'd rather not ever see again but still do. Its these fans that put me off going to see Paul I had an awful experience in Vegas and had a heated debate in NYC, however one of the best gigs I ever went to was Coachella, but thats mainly because I was nowhere near the crazy fans

For the last 6 years I had a temp job involving the Edinburgh Festival in August-I since quit and as a result decided I wanna do Beatles week in Liverpool and now there is this Scottish weekend I'm considering that now too even if it means going to Dundee I'll be interested to see what its going to involve. As for Liverpool I was looking at the packages and am interested but have never done one of these things. Its prob gonna have to be one or the other for sure

I know some bands that will play in Dundee and I can tell you it's worth going there If more people from the board decide to go we might meet for a pint somewhere. I enjoyed meeting fellow boardies before Paul's Hampden gig last year.

I really wonder if the Europeans are more cool, more no-nonsense than Americans. Not only when it comes to Paul but when it comes to celebs in general. I went to visit a theatre in Chicago that has some well-known actors as ensemble members and boy, did I meet some crazy, stalking-material people. And I'm not talking about 16 year olds, no, I'm talking about married women, early 50's that!!! What annoyed me most was the bragging. 'I've seen him 93 times now'. 'I have this shirt since the 80's'. 'I know what hotel he's staying at'. And so on. Which made me leave the soundcheck-group, skip the free bar and join my friends outside I've 'met' some cool American Macca fans through FB though so I know they're out there and I know there are tons of crazy fans from other countries as well but this group blew it for me.

DcBeatles64, I've often wondered how you can afford to travel all over the world to lots of Paul gigs, it's mind boggling!!! (Glad for you, though.) You've said you're a university student. That made me wonder too, I thought you must be very wealthy to go to all these Paul concerts everywhere.

I was looking into Liverpool aswell this year but it might be a bit too pricey for me so the fact theres going to be one in Scotland has made my mind up. So it will be 'Bonnie' Dundee!

I might do the Dundee thing to if i've nothing on at the time, an old flame lives in Dundee so i know the city quite well, I've got a feeling the event might be held at the docks where The Discovery is berthed.

Ha I find it ammusing that my money situation comes up all to often, if I didnt like Paul I'd be doing better financially I'd imagine, some of it has been part birthday/christmas gifts from my family. Also generally I live quite the tight live when not stalking Paul and i work a lot and at times during the year I've had two jobs- you knowing the saying work hard=play hard. As for uni some of that time I was part time hence I could work more and student loan has been majorly useful...dont think it was meant to be spent on Paul but the bulk of it was. I combine my love of travel with my love of Paul. Also helps not having any commitments p.s I just finished uni and will be graduating in June with a BA in Politics hurrah

As for Liverpool I was looking at the packages and am interested but have never done one of these things. Its prob gonna have to be one or the other for sure

I know some bands that will play in Dundee and I can tell you it's worth going there If more people from the board decide to go we might meet for a pint somewhere. I enjoyed meeting fellow boardies before Paul's Hampden gig last year.

ah neat, it sounds interesting, I do quite like the sound of it and its always fun meeting fellow fans. Dundee isnt to much of a trek for me
