I used to practically LIVE at Tower Records in the early '90s. A bygone era, for sure.

Me, too, Audi! I live in the suburbs of New Orleans - there was a *GREAT* Tower Records shop in the French Quarter - I used to go nearly every weekend in the late '80's/early 90's. They had everything
A Virgin Records shop opened a block away a few years later...wasn't ever as good as Tower, but I usually stopped in there, too. Now, both are long-closed. God, I miss record stores

Yes! For me it was the one in Ann Arbor near the UofM campus! Miss that place.

Here's an audio clip of a John Lennon doing a commercial for Tower Records http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2014/08/john_lennon_for_tower_rec.php

Tower Records is alive and well in Tokyo. There is an enormous store near the famous Shibuya crossing.

Just saw that Tower Records film too. I'm sure you also noticed all the stacks of "All Things Must Pass" and the fact that the woman browsing "McCartney" also was holding "Let It Be" and "Plastic Ono Band"? I also notice the cashier smoking as he worked behind the counter! I spent many hours at the Tower stores in Philly and King Of Prussia and Cherry Hill, NJ in the '80s/'90s/'00s. The Cherry Hill store was where I was interviewed for the local news when I showed up at midnight for the release of "Anthology 2." I was shown on TV, but only briefly, buying the CD. Unlike the mob for "Anthology 1," there was practically no one there for this one but me!

I was at a concert with Billy Joe Shaver at Tower Records in Austin, Texas in 1995. That was a great concert. We (me and my buddies) met him afterwards and talked and took pictures. Nice holiday too, three weeks of blues, country and tequila.
