I was very heartbroken and sad upon hearing the news of that both you and Heather had decided to end your marriage. I remember being absolutely thrilled at hearing the two of you were in love and was just so excited about the wedding and of having a child. Normally, I care nothing at all for celebrities and their personal lives, but I have loved the Beatles for all of my 23 years. I hate to appear intrusive, but I wanted to let you know that there are people who really do care. You have shown the world that you are a very kind and generous man in so many ways your devotion to Linda and your children, working with Heather and her commitments, and going on tour to promote freedom and helping us to heal from 9/11; neither you or Heather have done anything to deserve the insensitive treatment that the press is showing to you. As a wife and mother of two small children, it grieves me that you cannot be left alone to live the life you deserve with the people that you love without being hounded by gossip, rumors, and malicious people. For all the love you shown and joy you have given to us through your music, it is the least that we can do to show you love, kindness, and most of all respect at this trying time in your life. It is my fondest hope that in the end all of this can be resolved without seperating. If not, your fans love you very much and wish you and Heather nothing but happiness.

Paul, you've given me so much pleasure over the years - can't actually believe it's 40 years now since I first found Rubber Soul. I've followed your personal life like a sister, concerned when things go wrong, elated when happiness comes your way. It is with a heavy heart I've read of your decision to separate. I tend to ignore the press, the bad taste jokes and people's general "car crash" attitude to those having problems, although I appreciate this must be difficult to do when you are the ones personally under attack. Please just remember that what really matters is what's in your heart and the support of those that love you both. Although I'm not in the privileged position of being able to love you in the truest sense, please accept my good wishes and prayers for a safe passage through this trying and stressful time.

Many of us felt we lost a friend w/Linda's passing... In sharing w/us Heather, you continued your legacy of yet another incredible woman, introducing & showing us to rise above any obstacle (sp) , whatever it may be, and remain the beautiful, passionate, COMpassionate best women we can be. (I could continue w/your incredible children, but I'd be up all night... just, what a great father/husband you have inspired many spouses/parents to be)... Many of your beloved, classic songs, incl. 'Yesterday', 'Here, There, Everywhere' , 'I'm Amazed', etc., not only touched our hearts & souls, but will live on forever, through other generations. You've given us a forum, YOUR forum, to create, share, yeah, sometimes about YOU, many times about the PASSIONS we share w/you... our creative endeavors, animal rights... everything, as usual, so very generous of you. AND Heather, we've rounded up friends to sign her petitions, successfully
