http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/michael-jackson-off-the-wall-reissue-to-feature-spike-lee-doc-20160107 The reason why I posted this is because Michael Jackson recorded a McCartney song, "Girlfriend" for Jackson's "Off the Wall"LP. McCartney's version is on his LP, "Londontown."

I worry that I might be the only person who actually likes "Girlfriend" by Paul.... I actually have always really liked it..... think it was quite daring.... quite clever... Not sure why my natural response was to cup both hands across both sides of my head.... Ssh, I really like "Girlfriend". Like, a lot.

Possibly my most hated song of all time.

I love this song to. I think it's very crafty artistically and talent wise. That high range in his vocals is actually under rated for this song. People are too quick to throw in the sappy towel, but I think it's bad ass! z

I really like Girlfriend too, so talented!

Here it is if you feel the need...

I wasn't even aware that another version besides Michael Jackson's existed until years after the fact. Always loved it. But even if I'd never heard MJ's track, I would still dislike the Wings version. The key is too high. I honestly believe that Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson brought that song to its full potential.

I never really knew Michael Jackson's version that well.... so, I got off my butt and listened to it again.... I noted he didn't do the "till the river stops a-flowing" bridge.... One of the best parts of the song. I reckon Michael short-changed it. I stand behind the song, though.... Paul's version. In my reckoning, his versions shites over Michael's Sssh, I like the song.

I think it's a better pop-record template than it is a good song, which is allowed.

I am going to go on a limb here and suggest this might be one of Paul's most daring ventures.... for the time.... against the grain of the album London Town and his long many years (decades at call) contributions to that date.... now, this song would not slip into my top 50 Paul songs ( or much more), but I fully appreciate it... the older I get, the more I appreciate it. Quite daring.

I like the fact that Off The Wall will be available in both CD/DVD and CD/blu-ray combos. I wish Paul and his team would do that to his upcoming releases (new albums and remastered ones), intead of just offering the CD/DVD option. Blu-ray players seem to be quite widespread nowadays.
