Big Boi (of OutKast) has done a mashup with Wings' Mrs. Vanderbilt. It's awesome although I'm sure the anti-rap crowd here will grumble. But I wish more artists would do this sort of thing. It keeps Paul's music out there where it should be. Here's where you'll find the track: http://pigeonsandplanes.com/2014/04/big-boi-ft-kelly-rowland-little-dragon-and-wings-mrs-vandebilt-told-me/ I wish some young artists would cover and update songs like Little Willow, My Brave Face, and many more.

I actually did like this mash-up, but I felt that the track got a bit lazy at the very beginning and towards the end a bit out of ideas to end the track. It just seemed at the lowest points it could have been mixed better.

        ...And The Beat(le) Goes On

Remember when Laws did his mash ups? Here's one of his using Mama Miss America. http://www.fishytunes.net/laws-momma-miss-america/

Love the Mama Miss America mash-up! I hadn't heard that one before. If someone had described the idea to me, I might have been "meh". But hearing it, I think it works pretty nifty! Paul has a number of half-baked numbers kicking around, it's really cool hearing one of them get some extra life. But I loved the original anyways

I enjoyed the first twenty nine seconds, before some droll stilted voice trying to pass itself off as melody rinsed itself all over the song. The song picked up again at the two-minute mark, however, bounced effortlessly along for another twenty seconds or so, before being beset by another inaudible strain, before again setting back on sail. Hmm, I might just listen to the original track..... Rap with a silent C. An excuse to avoid hitting the right notes. Set in my ways on that, I am afraid.

Here's a nice comment from Big Boi about Paul's latest album and an interview where he talks about his Mrs. Vanderbilt mashup: http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/6029397/big-boi-debuts-mrs-vandebilt-mash-up-video-exclusive

"I really liked Paul Mccartney?s last album, 'New,' so Ray Murray and I went hunting through Paul?s catalog for a record. We found 'Mrs. Vanderbilt' by Wings. It?s a jewel. it?s jamming."

Yes. Yes it is. P.S. I like the Laws track too. His whole CD with Paul's work, called Yesterday's Future is good.

Don't think I've heard this mashup by Big Boi but OutKast has made two of my favorite hip hop albums with "ATliens" and "Aquemini". "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" are more divergent but also has a lot of catchy stuff. They have been mentioned as hip hop The Beatles, and I think I thought that if Paul McCartney... But there was Kanye West.
