        The title's a bit misleading...it's anti-f -r-a-c-k-ing. Not the other f word.

          Yeah, Paul was never anti-the-other-f-word!

Is fr a problem in Europe too, or is this a North American focus?

I wonder if this will be included... http://veevr.com/videos/Knvsm_kHC I wouldn't mind it if a certain someone's "singing" was left out of the final mix. (I think you know who)

I've heard it's a problem in North America. Where I live in Los Angeles they are doing that right underneath Culver City and they are doing that stuff also in Moundsville West Virginia. I saw protesters in Culver City holding up those anti f-r-a-c-k-I-n-g signs....they gotta stop using the Earth's resources unnecessarily and try to preserve it otherwise there will be no more oil in the future! Not sure about the same problem in Europe though. but that is interesting to know about the new album with Paul being invited on it.

I think it's a very hard call. Natural gas would get us off of depending on other countries for oil. The price of oil is just skyrocketing. I haven't studied it at all but maybe there is another way to mine it.

F*r*a*cking is bad news. Recent evidence suggests leakage of methane into the atmosphere during f*r*a*cking may outweigh any greenhouse gas savings from switching to natural gas from coal or oil, though that's still controversial. What isn't controversial is that f*r*a*cking pollutes groundwater, causes geological instability, and wastes vast amounts of water --which, where I live, is an increasingly precious and limited resource. In a sane world, we'd prove a technology like this to be safe before we deploy it widely. Instead, we go at it like crazy and just hope it doesn't lead to disaster. Insane.

Yes and as an example Oklahoma has had a major increase in earthquakes in the past year and they think the cause is F r a c k i n g. There was a period of time just a few months ago when they were having tremors daily.

The Netherlands want to use f r a c k i n g right at the border to Germany. Germany objects to this. .

A huge problem in the UK, there have been massive protests in the north west of England as sites of land have been fenced off and fr-acking companies have been testing out the ground. It's been a couple of years like this here. It only made the national news in this country when somewhere closer to London was also used and had protests (the media doesn't care much if it's not near london sometimes! grrr!). Until about a year ago (when i was reading Sean Lennons twitter - he's is extremely involved in all this) i didn't realise it was a problem in the states too.

What a shame all this is. I did not know that it also wastes water. Sounds like a huge problem which I honestly don't know much about.

Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono were on David Letterman (pretty sure it was his show) about a year ago, with Sean singing a song called "Don't Frack My Mother." (Funny how we can write "frack" and "fracked" but not "fracking.")
