These songs have virtually zero existence in Paul McCartney's current, artistic consciousness -- and it is now an exercise in futility to bother with ranking them.

Maybe he needs to hear some of them again.

Not ranking them, more gathering the best tracks from his underrated decade - so many fine songs.

I remember when Flowers In the Dirt came out and there were so many reviews praising it as Paul's "comeback", his best since Tug of War and all that. He had a lot of great songs in the '80's, but people couldn't overcome the rest of it, probably the low being Pipes of Peace or the film Broadstreet. But off the top of my head here's my favorites of the '80's. No particular order. So Bad No More Lonely Nights Wanderlust Tug of War Say Say Say Pipes of Peace Only Love Remains However Absurd My Brave Face We Got Married Motor of Love Here Today Take It Away This One

It's unfortunate that except for "Here Today" and sometimes "Coming Up", you won't hear anything from the '80s in his concert setlist unless you include the DJ remix mashups before he comes on stage. Not sure how I'd rank them, but some of my favorites from the '80s that I listen to the most: Take It Away Ballroom Dancing Wanderlust So Bad Not Such a Bad Boy No More Lonely Nights Press However Absurd My Brave Face Figure of Eight

I'd say it's futile to post anything on this forum, if people are expecting Paul to read it. But for us, it's fascinating, no?

Can you imagine a song that good and he has never released it on an official album. That is why I think he is the greatest pop/rock songwriter of all time. He has a bunch of unreleased gems.
