I thought this new video is in the style of Kiesza's Hideaway video. I mean, it was made for people under 20. (That means it was made for music chart plays, possibly leading to sales.)

      ...And The Beat(le) Goes On

Bet they enjoyed those casting calls. I like the original version. But I am an old lady so that would account for that opinion.

Brit dance jig coming up (like a flower)--they shall be dancing a Jig. I often forget to check out Paul's facebook page--I will more often, from now on.

            Video for 'The Man'

Another video with the hashtag #SaySaySay so...

I'd suggest that MPL have seriously missed a trick in not releasing 'The Man' (perhaps a remix?) as a radio single, to promote the POP reissue. It was crying out for single release back in 1984 and I understand an extended 12'' version is still lying in the vaults. Or maybe this has still to come???

I agree, a missed opportunity back then - time to correct that now. There is a huge market out there for an almost unknown MJ performance..

The Man was almost a 45 release. I have seen one a long time ago: not bogus but the real deal. A radio promo? I can't recall, but it was a 45 single.

Would've been a very, very good opportunity to plug the lesser known The Man rather than, say, Say,Say, Say..... this new video does nothing for me. I like a video to show both a good narrative, and more importantly, the performing artists. I see no reason to be watching the new video again. Surely there was footage on the cutting room floor of the original that could have been used.

The new video is an attempt to make Paul cool with the 'kids'

If the new video was anything like the old video, the target audience would be us, the fans who are already buying the remasters. It makes sense to remove the focus a bit from the performers who might not be considered cool anymore, and focus on the actual rhythm and dance quality instead. From a pure marketing perspective, that is.

I too would love to see something done with "The Man" and Michael Jackson's involvement with that song and a possible video would not hurt. Quite the opposite. Yeah man ! For "The Man" --This new "Say Say Say" vid In a way it jells, it goes, it's happenin' because audiences love to see young peeps dancing, singing, having a ball, but in a way...there's just too much of a good thing with the dancing, and I kept flashing back to the dynamic cinematic original vid of that with Paul, Michael, Linda and how zippy, fun and entertaining it was and how well it meshed with the great song. I missed seeing those guys. When Paul is hawking the medicine man caravan wares, well, that was so doggone cute and I would go so far as to say "cool" --still cool, something about that.

Has anyone mentioned that the lead vocals are swapped for this song?

I like the original video. Where else can you see Paul, Linda and Michael with their natural hair and faces hamming it up for the camera?

I was hoping for a The Girl is Mine video. Hard to believe that such a huge hit did not have a video on MTV at the time.

That muck started Paul McCartney's downfall. Seriously. Anyone who was a Paul fan was drinking it hard after that surfaced. And the nightmare grew... Say Say Say, Spies Like Us, Broadstreet, Once Upon a Long Ago... Many of us were ashamed... We recovered...but Paul's reputation never did. He is still recovering from those mistakes.

The new video of "Say, Say, Say" might have benefited from being interspersed at intervals with bits from the original video. Possibly. Maybe it's attention deficit disorder, but this dancing seems to go on too long, it's too samey or something. Lacks bright colors. They sure can dance their tushies off, and that's great.
