For what it's worth Tug of War reenters the UK Charts at 47 and POP at 56. Far more important what happens on Billboard

There may be a POWER CUT and maybe I love you so, me I love you so, me I love you soooo....

I can't remember but I think the official UK Charts had Tug at #30! And POP was in the Top 50. Really pleased about this!

Given that Paul McCartney is an English artist, what happen on Billboard (or any other foreign chart for that matter) is of minimal interest. Your not Macca's bank manager are you,Frank?

No indeed not (I wish I were) What I meant is that with all the downloads and streaming all over the world, the US chart is about the only one where chart positions still mean a significant number of CDs being bought (though even there it`s just a fraction of what it used to be). And....I´m afraid it`s the market Paul has been almost entirely focused on for the past 15 years

I'm very much old school, unless its a physical copy then any other 'sale' is meaningless.

It would be great if Tug of War could make it to #1 twice on the US Billboard Album charts.

TOW and POP are nowhere to be found on the Oct. 17th Billboard 200 or back Catalog charts. But these 30+ yr old albums will be of little interest to anyone outside of this message board.

They will be this week Thursday - I can bet. The reissues came out Oct. 2 and the Oct. 17 Billboard chart was put up oct. 8. That´s too early for the reissues to make an impact. I´ll further bet that TOW will make the Top 40

No it`s just a matter of everybody wanting their "team " to do well. As a Paul fan I would like him to be in the charts. Is that so weird ? BTW : My favorite Paul albums are Ram, BTTE and Driving Rain. That certainly is proof that I don`t pick favorites according to chart position

Per Hits Daily Double -- which doesn't exactly match Billboard but tracks pretty closely to it -- TOW lands at #31 with 6,239 units sold and POP at #39 with 5,250. Pretty decent for reissues, but my have album sales fallen. The only album with sales in six figures is the new Janet Jackson album, at #1 with 105K. http://hitsdailydouble.com/building_album_chart

____________________________________________________ Thanks Bruce. His sales would certainly spike if he played a couple of Tug of War songs (on top of Here Today)at his Live Shows this month. The Internet/u-tube would give him free publicity if he did it. My vote would have been Take It Away and The Pound is Sinking. with the help of his Band, I think he could sing both songs comfortably. Unfortunately, the first show was last night and the answer was "NO". I threw my opinion about this in the Rock Show / Columbus OH Show thread. By the way, he did play Temporary Secretary and 45 seconds (or whatever it's called). Why is he playing songs like that when he has so many better songs including about 8 from Tug. I just don't get it.

I'm not convinced that adding TOW/POP songs to Paul's stage show would make that much difference to sales. The majority of people who attend Paul's shows these days tend not to be interested in buying Paul's latest album(s),let alone buying an album that's already been available for thirty odd years.
