I'm not "feeling" the comparison to The Mess... although it did compel me to check out that live version with all the girls up and dancing.... so 70's.... Wild Life has a multitude of 'to's'.... but that is a long bow too. It's got me stumped.

So far, I can't come up with anything closer. "Titanium too" doesn't really do it, nor does "what's gonna happen to"/"whatever happened to".

Perhaps it is something that slipped into the 80's?... At any rate, it does present as a challenge.

Ha, how about this?! "The artful dodger says he wants to pick a pocket or TWO." - No Values (1984)

What about the London Town rozzer playing a simple tune upon his flute... TOO-T TOO-T?

Macca sounds the essence of sophistication with his singing on "Alligator," to my ears. It's funny, I wrote about an alligator here once, in "Cosmically Conscious" I think-- an anecdote about one turning up in a pond on somebody's yard and how awful it was that they wanted the creature killed. Alligators aren't cute, warm, cuddly and fuzzy and can be killers, but does that mean they've less right to exist than other critters And then later on, Macca pops up with a song called "Alligator"

          Nancy R:

Beatles4Ever&Ever, when I first heard the song, I though "alligator" was a euphemism for "little Macca" too! Paul probably wrote the lyric that way so it could be interpreted both ways and I love it!

I think I prefer Alligator to be written by Paul as a euphemism for a "little Macca" than perhaps a musical icon of the opposite sex drawing such an analogy... ouch!

You guys are deep! All this time I just assumed alligator was just a placeholder word he didn't bother removing.
