Hey. I'm glad we disagree on SOME things because we AGREE on so much! It's healthy! For the record (no pun intended) there are a handful of erudite posters on this board with whom I like to converse/and or joust. You are one of them my friend.

C'mon! Neil Finn was brilliant. Woodface is one of the best Australian/Kiwi albums of the last..... geez, I'm getting older, but a brilliant album.... "Fall At Your Feet" is a divine song. One of the best non-McCartney melodies of all-time.

Have to agree with moptops. Laine was ordinary at best and has declined mightily from there. Check out his recent gigs on You Tube. He can't hold a bucket, let alone a tune. Woeful plinky plunky guitar noodling. All his solo offerings were awful (Heartbeat, Moondreams, Say You Don't Mind, Holly Days, Ahh Laine et al). Abysmal. The only thing he was able to offer Wings was his backing vocals. Somehow his own whiny vocalising meshed well with Linda's and helped give us that trademark Wings sound. On a scale of 1 to 10, better get a bucket!

I do like Woodface. The only Crowded House album I do like (and own). Having said that, Fall At Your Feet is one of the ordinary tracks on it in my opinion.

As are you, Amigo! One certainly has to have a sense of humor to discuss such subjects as Paul McCartney's inner most secrets and bass strings!

I think what set Woodface apart was Tim's involvement, which gave it a more discordant tone, which Neil's melodies could never suffer from.

I've "heard" of them, but know nothing of their music and yes, I am glad I don't. I have "Memory Almost Full" and don't need anything else in there unless it's Paul or Beatles related!

Very underrated artist is Laine. Brilliant songwriter apart from anything else. I'd go as far as to say, that overall, his 80's song catalogue is superior to Paul's.
