Paul at Brit Actor's Backstage Party
-
I saw a selfie with Paul Mc., Nancy and others at Brit actor Alan Cumming's backstage party after "Cabaret" January 8. Cummings' recent biography "Not My Father's Son" really tore me up, so tragic and sad--Alan's father was a violent psychopath who tortured him growing up--his mother's father by contrast was a war hero and good man, who was traumatized by war and never received treatment. It was not offered to soldiers back then in WWII or recognized as a disorder (post-traumatic stress disorder). I wonder if Paul Mc. read Alan's book. If so, I know he was deeply affected by it. He ought to read that if he hasn't.

Lol it wasn't his bday. Alan runs this club in his dressing room after his killer performance in "Cabaret" on Broadway. Paul must have seen the show. Thanks for sharing this story, Susy! My friend bumped into Paul near the theater that night.

Actually, I believe his last name is Cumming....no "s". He's great on "The Good Wife" week in and week out. ....Well this is interesting, when I spell his name accurately....without the "s"but with the two "mm's" and the"u" it gets changed to "coming"!!! I didn't know this site had some weird spell check!!!

That's a great pic, thanks, Nancy and Debbie. I wonder if Paul read Alan Cumming's new memoir, "Not My Father's Son." I'm sure he was deeply moved, if so. It's beautifully written--Alan probably wrote it himself. A tragic story well delved into with, thankfully, strong elements of eventual triumphs. Cumming's acting chops are also up to par (I'll say!) as he did a one-man show of "MacBeth" in New York, which must have been quite challenging and taxing.
