"NEW" at Paul's concerts
-
Someone at Paul's concert asked me this tonight, and I had no answer. With Paul promoting NEW and with that being the theme of the entire tour, why is there no "NEW"-related merchandise? There is only the "Out There" photo on shirts, posters, etc. I'm curious myself, why is "NEW" not for sale on CD at Paul's concerts? Anybody know? The vendors had no answer either. Rather than venture a guess on the concertgoer, I just said I wasn't sure.

I've never seen Paul's CDs being sold at his shows, but I've seen Brian's and Rusty's. You can see them in these pictures, below a canvas bag: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=86470&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=3

In 2002, when I saw Paul in Boston during the Driving Rain tour, the vending booths had the Driving Rain album (with the updated color slip over sleeve depicting Paul jumping over a red car while holding his hofner bass...although I saw that new sleeve in retail stores soon after, that was the first time I had seen the new sleeve)

I thought a similar error was made at those free, 20-minute outdoor mini-gigs last fall; they should've been selling the CD right afterward.

Maybe there are legal (and tax) issues when selling CDs on the street?

Show me a mayor that wouldn't issue McCartney a permit, and I'll show you an idiot.

haha that's funny! Yeah that is strange they don't have Paul's Cds being sold at the shop after the concert or before it. I mean that CD is awesome and would be a sell out at the concert.

That's a real good question! Wish I knew...

I love the New album cover - it would be great if they sold a shirt with that on it.

I'd buy one...or two...actually probably three shirts (one of each cover, plus a gift for someone).

My friend and I made our own, we have one with the blue color and one with the pink color. Who can wait?! We used iron on transfers from prints in the printer! They look fabulous!

Good point. Broadway shows in NYC are always selling the cast album, London theaters do the same thing.
