Thank you thank you for posting that! I remember at the time I was so moved by that lovely little story! That was a very intelligent animal.

but I do remember that Paul and Linda were driving somewhere and Linda saw this beautiful white horse in the field and Paul pulled over and they bought the horse from it owner. Cheerio, Tom Mac

I remember that too. Wasn't it her first Appaloosa? Appaloosa (Linda McCartney) Chief Joseph and his tribe bred beautiful horses On the banks of the Paloose River The breed became known as the Appaloosa Appaloosa stallion run so fast Gallop through the canyon through the past Lead your tribe to safety show the way Cavalry gets closer every day Once you ran through peaceful fields of grass Once you drank from rivers clear and fast Life for you was easy, full of love Sleep beneath the yellow moon above Then the foreign soldiers came from far across the sea Stealing all the tribal land that once had been so free Starving people that you love are crawling through the snow Will they get across the border, heaven only knows Appaloosa stallion run so fast Gallop through the canyon through the past Lead your tribe to safety show the way Cavalry gets closer every day Appaloosa stallion run so fast Gallop through the canyon through the past Lead your tribe to safety show the way But the foreign soldiers came to stay Then the foreign soldiers came from far across the sea Stealing all the tribal land that once had been so free Starving people that you love are crawling through the snow Will they get across the border, heaven only knows Appaloosa stallion run so fast Gallop through the canyon through the past Lead your tribe to safety show the way But the foreign soldiers came to stay

I loved the Wings Fun Club and then the Paul McCartney Fun Club. Just knowing Linda was around then and that part of it is a good memory and of course getting the Fun Club ID cards, I still have my original. And it was just Fun. Linda took all the fun with her.

Hello calicoskych2001 Not sure if it was her first Appaloosa. But I do know that Linda was very happy to have this horse. I ve seen pictures of her on the horse. Cheerio, Tom Mac

              Hey Everybody,
Saw Paul McCartney 7 times in concert and been a fan of his since 1964. Took my wife Josie to see her first Paul McCartney's concert in 2005 in Philadelphia and we are now living in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

It's actually the last song on her album "Wide Prairie".

I really miss those magazines. Every so often I get them all out and work my way through them, they are very sentimental to me.

I too miss the club...although I joined in the 86 (assuming the club advertised on the back of Red Rose couldnt still be in existence since wings wasnt, boy I could have kicked myself knowing I could have joined in 80). I have managed to order back issues and find on my own all issues but the elusive #1. I've also managed to pick up a handfull of the pre club sandwitch books. That wingspan.ru site is awesome....just too bad they didnt scan all the issues. It makes me want to scan mine. I didnt realise I was in the presence of macca royaly...lol...wow some of you guys have been around a long time....I'm so envious of you guys that got to go to the "take it away" concert...wow

omg more memories flood back....I moved out of my parents house....only 40 miles away but far enough that I needed to start up a second membership. Getting a club sandwhich in the mail was a major thrill that never got old. I was very sad indeed to see Paul stop it. But I can understand why. I still have every paper I ever received from them club offers...lol...everything.....what a wonderfull time.

I was a member in the 70s and remember, through the club, getting a great seat in about the 7th row of the stalls at Wembley Arena (or Empire Pool as it was then). When the first note was played I couldn't see for a cloud of dry ice! Wings were at their peak then, but it was a pity they couldn't keep a settled line-up.

I really need to start collecting the back issues that I've not got, I always intended to collect the set but they're harder to get now and some are quite expensive but to collect them all would be amazing
