I have just won these 6 issues of Wings Fan Club newsletters on ebay. How many more were published?
-
Many moons ago, I bought a satin Wings Fun Club jacket for a song, 'cos I knew someone who was selling off their entire Beatles/Macca collection as they were in desperate need for $$$$ to pay off their bills. I bought the entire collection for peanuts.

I'm so happy that I still have all of my issues.I'd never sell them.

From memory, you appear to have the first 6 'booklet' style newsletters covering the period autumn 1973 to late 1974. There were about another 4 of these 'booklets', issued during 1975/1976 , the series coming to an end in 1977 when the 'Club Sandwich' newsletters began. Prior to the 'booklets',there were several newsletters which were printed on A4 sized paper. These were typed, contained no photos and varied in sheet numbers.

Kept all my membership cards & have them in scrapbooks. Some years they were blue & others red.

Thank you for the info!

Remembering the first time I saw the teeny blip on the back of Red Rose Speedway announcing the club.

I have just purchased the item in the picture below. Is it one of the 1975 booklets that you have mentioned?

I said it in the Sandy concert thread and I'll say it again here: after tonight's amazing performance, any doubt I have ever had about his singing abilities have been obliterated! He was astonishing!!

I joined the Fun Club at its start in Feb 1973 and was a continuous member till it finished due to the tragic circumstances that occurred in April 1998. My Membership number was 372. I still have all the original Club letters, Sandwiches, t-shirts, badges etc, etc, that were given away or I bought during that time. I first met Paul, Linda, Denny, Denny & Henry in March 1973 when I was lucky enough to get tickets for 2 shows that were being recorded at Elstree Studios for Pauls TV show "James Paul McCartney" what a truly momentous couple of days...wow actually meeting and chatting to all of them (plus autographs of course!!). My only regret is that you wer'nt allowed cameras (we hadnt even dreamed of Smartphones!!!) so I have no photographic record of one of or probably the , best days of my life. One consolation though I can been seen applauding at the start of the show when it was shown on TV later that year. The Fun Club in the early years was a great club to be in, the chances to get tickets to video shoots, premieres, concerts etc was so much different to the latter days when it had spread to all corners of the globe and personal contact by phone or letter to the Club office just couldnt continue with such a huge fanbase. Another one of my highlights was attending the premiere to "Give My Regards to Broad Street" at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square. Walking up the red carpet with the crowds behind barriers & the cameras all flashing away was truly amazing. All the stars were there, Paul, Linda & Ringo as well as numerous other stars from the entertainment world including John Entwistle & Pauls cousin Kate Robbins both of who I met in the bar afterwards. I'll dig out all my Fun Club items and start showing it all over the next few weeks, its all in many, many boxes in one of my spare rooms at the moment so please bear with me. I've attended practically all of Pauls London concerts except for a couple of VIP only shows. As well as the official concerts & premieres I also got a ticket for the "Chaos & Creation in the Backyard" event at HMV Oxford Street on 15 Sept 2005. My avatar is a pic of me in 1979 at Lympne Castle near where I live, where Wings recorded Back to the Egg the previous summer.
