"Winedark Open Sea" is shamefully under-appreciated. It's a masterpiece.

I'd say "Winedark Open Sea" is half a masterpiece that starts wandering off track about two and a half minutes in and then just rambles to an uninspired close. It's a shame, because there's the germ of a great song there, but -- as has happened more than once with our Paulie -- he never finished the damn thing, but went ahead and recorded it anyway. That said, there's a lot of the outtakes from OTG that I like better than the songs that made the album. Sigh...

I agree with Bruce that it should have been shorter to give it more impact.

To me, "Winedark Open Sea" emotes so effectively during that long instrumental break. Then Paul comes back with such a soulful proclamation of love to close the track. Yes, the track "drifts" -- but in the good way. Somewhat like "No Other Baby."

just buy the singles, so you´ll have all the bonus tracks and they are much cheaper, or wait for the deluxe treatment, in the mid 2020s the singles are all out on ebay, amazon... the off the ground maxicd is abit rare but also available...

"Lighten up my heart, let me have some time to breathe..." Yeah. The more acoustic driven pieces sound great. Think Paul Missed a trick not doing some of these for The Official Bootleg, I'd prefered that more than some of the selections on that.

HUH? "No Other Baby" doesn't drift at all. It's tight, concise and nearly perfect.

Hi! These days I was searching about Paul and I discovered some nice musics of the 90's of a rare album: "Off The Ground Complete Works". I can't find this album anywhere... Someone know where I can find it??? Thank!

The various songs on Volume 2 of Complete were also released on the same CD as the singles from the album, Hope of Deliverance, Come On People and the title track Off the Ground. Got them back in the early 90s. That bit in Long Leather Coat where he sings "grab a handful of everything in sight and let the party begin" is a great line and that song is a great rocker that was worthy of much greater exposure than it ever received buried on those import singles or on volume 2. PS...those singles should be floating around on ebay and you can probably buy them much cheaper than trying to land Complete Works. That's just guessing though, worth checking out.

I really like Hope of Deliverance, Biker Like an Icon, C'Mon People and The Lovers That Never were but (surprise surprise) Golden Earth Girl vies with maybe I'm Amazed for my all time favourite. It's my dear wish to hear him perform this in concert. I have a lot to thank Paul for in this album.

C'mon People is one of his finest songs, am I alone in thinking this? Like, let's say he releases a one-disc compilation for 1985-present, to follow up on Wingspan. If C'mon People isn't on it, I'd be sorely disappointed. ... but yeah, we all know it'll be two discs, ergo, the song will make it on.

You'd have no reason to get it, then. Those deliverance mixes are sure tough to get.
