I have drawn-up a list of session musicians featured on every solo Macca album (except "NEW") It is interesting to see how some names recur on a number of records, sometimes decades apart, especially the names you don't normally hear of, (I mean - not Wings members, or Paul's usual regulars such as Abe Laboriel Jr. 😉 ) e.g. Tony Visconti, Pete Townshend, or Mick Green The list is very clear to read. You are welcome to contribute up-dates, corrections and comments from me to you, Pawel EDIT: George's list http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=88817 John's list http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=88818 Abe Laboriel Jr. ? Thanks. It's fun thinking of someone & then checking to see if he is on either Paul's or George's lists.

Yeah! 😉 I'll soon post a Lennon list too, and you'll get a surprise to see how many names are common for Paul-George-John lists! EDIT: Done, Lennon list is up and running in the Yesterday forum

I was looking at the drummers. I'm surprised Paul never used Jim Keltner...seems like he is all over the place & has been for years. I saw George used him & I remember him in all the Wilbury videos. But Paul has used... Vinnie Colaiuta ? KISSES ON THE BOTTOM - drums

A great Beatles trivia question: Who's the only musician who played with the group & all 4 solo members? Answer: Nicky Hopkins

On a Jason Falkner site he's credited as electric guitar on "A Certain Softness" acoustic guitar on "At the Mercy" classical guitar and grand piano on "Growing Up, Falling Down" so maybe add piano to his name above (i love Jason) edited my own post to say i've realised you're not counting album b sides, so i guess his contribution to that classic fantastic b side wont count! Sorry!

                    .

No, no, it's OK. It it true that I only used names appearing on albums as if neglecting singles. But as I said in my opening post, you are welcome to make new contributions, also concerning singles, charity singles, bonus tracks, OST tracks, etc etc. I'd like to make the list as comprehensive as possible. I'll try and update the list as you make your contributions and corrections Gruss!

I just finished reading Christopher Sandford's bio on Paul, and guitarist David Spinozza didn't have the most complementary things to say about his experience working on Ram. He dismissed the music as being basic, etc. Funny, because so many consider that album a flawed masterpiece.

I guess that's the "flawed" part.

I was going to say "Why didn't he ever use Klaus Voormann?" but oops, that would be redundant, I guess! Still, if Paul were playing a different instrument, it would be a nice gesture.

I was going to say "Why didn't he ever use Klaus Voormann?" but oops, that would be redundant, I guess! Still, if Paul were playing a different instrument, it would be a nice gesture.

Actually, Paul and Klaus did reunite! They played together on Klaus's album "Sideman's Journey" (2009) Here, a documentary on the sessions, "I'm in Love Again", Paul played the piano, lead guitar, and a guide-drum-track:

PS: Ringo also played on the track! (Ringo re-recorded Paul's guide drum track) One of the happiest, most enjoyable Beatles footage ever!

Why do I feel like I should know who Klaus Voormann is???

I was glad when he worked with George Martin on FP. Ringo too.

They met him when they first played Hamburg. He and Astrid inspired the Beatle haircut, and Stu stayed there with Astrid. Klaus later did the "Revolver" LP cover, as well as playing bass for various solo Beatles. EDIT: Sorry, didn't see oobu24's post!

No problem...we were thinking the exact same thing.
