anyone opposed to Paul trying LSD again for his next album?
-
Not only have we not heard the perspective of a 74 year old man on LSD but we haven't heard the perspective of Paul McCartney on LSD at 74 years old and being that his experiences with LSD have yielded some of the greatest music ever one might wonder what would happen if he were to take it today, perhaps before a writing session Just an idea

Not opposed, but don't see the point either.
-
ROTFLMAO!

You see no potential in him accessing the parts of his brain responsible for the material of Sgt. Pepper?
-
LMAO! That would be an interesting exercise

How does anyone know for sure that he's not smoking it now? I know he said so but...

I was thinking how he said he gave up smoking because of Bea.

Lead Singers Disease syndrome? His voice has had a Rough Ride lately....lol

My guess would be that since Paul gave up pot for Bea, he is not going to take LSD.

He came up with unusual "Electric Arguments" offerings without (one supposes) using LSD. Maybe it'll be more interesting to see what he dreams up song-wise while being "straight"? Or, this would be provocative--issue one "straight" album and another done while tripping and everyone compare the two.

Some musicians and singers have enhanced their music with the conscientious and moderate use of holy smoke or alcohol for centuries upon centuries. Look at Dean Martin carrying a never ending cocktail around with him!
The College World Series legalized beer and wine sales at the games this year. Had a few problems and arrests. Why can't a musician use a disciplined amount of creative relaxants to perform, or mild psychoactives to be creative in the studio? Maybe, the Japanese governmental leaders would be kind enough to ship Paul back the pot they busted him with several years ago? Do they not still sell alcohol in Japan???

That idea went up in smoke. ð??? It would be interesting if he did.

Interesting thought... It would definitely be mind expanding, as long as he was with fun, happy, musical people and no downer types... Since one is so sensitive in such a state, picking up on negative vibes could lead to a bad trip. It's an aid to creativity for sure!! Didn't realize about Sgt. Pepper, but it all makes sense now... Artist illustrator, trying LSD ... Really amazing!

Here's an article about how it influenced revolver, but also how it created wounds within the group. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/beatles-revolver-how-lsd-opened-the-door-to-a-masterpiece-w436062

Macca has said he was scared to death of LCD when he experimented with it in 1967. Why in the world would he try it again 50 years later???
-
I thought that stuff doesn't exist anymore these days? LOL
Must be still around I suppose. I do not do drugs so I don't know what is out there still or what people still do to themselves with that junk. Anyways if LSD is still out there I'd rather he not use it especially at his age. Im against any kind of intoxicating drugs like that.

LCD? Really!?
ops:
And to set the record straight: Paul is the Beatle who announced in the media in 1967 that he had LSD. He wasn't promoting it, but he was asked the question and he answered truthfully. It set off a furor almost as great as John's "more popular than Jesus" comment. But taking LSD was a very positive experience for Paul and all of them. Read the new issue of Rolling Stone. He was reluctant to try it, but the other three had, so he finally did too.

I don't consider LSD, peyote or mushrooms "drugs." ð?? If he can't find anyone to trip with, I am here.

I should clarify that such things are only for a chosen few, and certainly only for adults. I remember George's comments when he decided to give it up, were that many people were so overly involved in it, that it was like the craziness of alcoholism. The undisciplined, over indulgence in Anything...NEVER works out.
