Paul is in close enough touch with his inner child and with the part of himself that's "British eccentric" that he can compose magical transcendent songs without "using anything" to alter his brain chemistry He has enough imagination without resorting to such substances. And more than enough brilliance and talent and experience. He got all the goodies already

On 21 March, 1967, the first session attended by The Beatles' official biographer Hunter Davies, John said he was feeling ill. At this point only a few run-throughs had been done of the background vocals for "Getting Better." As Sir George Martin could not bring him outside, since the studio was surrounded by fans, he brought John up to the roof for some fresh air. A little while later, Paul and George asked how John was, and when they learned he had been left up on a 30-foot high roof with no railings, they quickly brought him back into the studio. They knew that he had taken a large dose of LSD by mistake, and as Geoff Emerick recalled "John...was looking up at the ceiling saying, 'Cor, look at that, George!' God only knows what he was seeing; George certainly couldn't figure it out..." Sir George also has said that Paul took LSD on this night as well, to keep John company. He went on to say that this was indicative of one of the greater aspects of Paul's character: https://www.beatlesbible.com/features/drugs/5/ From what I've read, I don't think Paul has ever had much use for LSD, and he has been quite responsible about it. As we Americans like to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." "I knew that was dodgy. I sensed that you could get a little too wired on stuff like that. I went along with it the first couple of times, but eventually we'd be sitting there rapping and rapping, drinking and drinking, and going faster and faster, and I remember John turning round to me and saying, 'What are you on, man? What are you on?' I said, 'Nothin'! 'S great, though, isn't it!' Because I'd just get buoyed up by their conversation. They'd be on the prellies and I would have decided I didn't really need one, I was so wired anyway. Or I'd maybe have one pill, while the guys, John particularly, would have four or five during the course of an evening and get totally wired. I always felt I could have one and get as wired as they got just on the conversation. So you'd find me up just as late as all of them, but without the aid of the prellies. This was good because it meant I didn't have to get into sleeping tablets. I tried all of that but I didn't like sleeping tablets, it was too heavy a sleep. I'd wake up at night and reach for a glass of water and knock it over. So I suppose I was a little bit more sensible than some of the other guys in rock 'n' roll at that time. Something to do with my Liverpool upbringing made me exercise caution." Paul McCartney Many Years From Now, Barry Miles https://www.beatlesbible.com/features/drugs/5/

We did have two monitors but everything was put through the right hand one. We weren't allowed to monitor on both because they were saved for stereo orchestral recordings!

I thought that stuff doesn't exist anymore these days? LOL Must be still around I suppose. I do not do drugs so I don't know what is out there still or what people still do to themselves with that junk. Anyways if LSD is still out there I'd rather he not use it especially at his age. Im against any kind of intoxicating drugs like that.

It's never left, plenty of young musicians still use it and also magic mushrooms. It's not an intoxicating drug, it's a hallucinogenic mind expanding drug. You could say it's the opposite of being closed minded...it's very open minded and young musicians I know use it as inducement of their creativity and to open and expand their imagination.

The only drug that he really need is LOVE. Think that he does this big tours around the world just because he enjoys to see how crowds love him. Beside he knows how to do it fine.

                Please, come back soon!!!!

OMG, OT, but speaking of biscuits, AHDN hotel has the BEST biscuits (cookies) in the room! I became addicted! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bront%C3%AB-Traditional-Delicious-Biscuit-Packs/dp/B015ZNEJK8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_201_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2RYRSNH1BW0RRTWZH2M5 If Paul tried them, I bet he'd be musically inspired!

The LSD party only won 7% of the vote in Sunday's election. That means nothing to Paul since he doesn't know that China exists, but maybe if he took some drugs he'd have a vision telling him not to take any.

Paul also boasts (not that he brags about it) an exquisite greatly renowned gift for making melodies. Another reason he doesn't need to turn to mind expanding dope. While making "Electric Arguments" he didn't announce, "I had to get tore up, really wasted, man, to come up with this wild far out stuff" and he and the Youth artist didn't appear stoned out of their tree while painting and drawing their collage for the art in the booklet inside the EA album

Some musicians and singers have enhanced their music with the conscientious and moderate use of holy smoke or alcohol for centuries upon centuries. Look at Dean Martin carrying a never ending cocktail around with him! The College World Series legalized beer and wine sales at the games this year. Had a few problems and arrests. Why can't a musician use a disciplined amount of creative relaxants to perform, or mild psychoactives to be creative in the studio? Maybe, the Japanese governmental leaders would be kind enough to ship Paul back the pot they busted him with several years ago? Do they not still sell alcohol in Japan???

                              Now you can smoke alcohol!

Randy, I came in here to contribute that very same phrase (why do you think they call it dope) and you beat me to the (non-spiked) punch. I might sound like Carrie Nation, but I haven't even gotten drunk on alcohol in decades, much less all that other. I've barely touched the booze. I didn't want to harm my liver and the "king of the organs," the brain any more than was already done. And I hoped some of the original damage got repaired. Here's a huge incentive to lay off the stimulants: I asked my teen niece before she headed off to college, "Do you want to stay young looking and beautiful for a very long time?" and she beamed, "Yes!" I replied, "Then don't drink a lot and use other drugs." Words to that effect.

Both Ringo and the late Keith Moon used to called prescribed medications and illegal drugs "medicine!"
