Was listening to Scared today and although I like it a lot , I miss the big ballad type song Paul used to be able to write in his sleep . My Valentine was ok but it lacks a bit of warmth and passion for my taste . Waterfalls is a favourite it's got that sweet dreamy voice and that lovely chorus , No More Lonely Nights is another one I like , this was his last big hit ballad . I think it's time he wrote a whole album full of love songs ? So which love songs do you like from the past 50 years

The one he said he'd most like to be remembered for...Maybe I'm Amazed. But Here There and Everywhere is one of the best songs ever written also.

There are so many silly love songs! The other day No Other Baby really got to me. And from KOTB Only Our Hearts made me cry the other week. My Valentine is nice and I love that video. Maybe I'm Amazed My Love Here, There and Everywhere And I Love Her so many... that is not even counting the NEW album ones.

Lovers In A Dream that is a great love song that I have enjoyed over and over off EA. also there is some romantic thing I feel from Universal Here, Everlasting Now, although I don't quite know why. Also from C&C I love ANYWAY.

Another one of Paul's great love songs: "Only Love Remains". Something about those chords... The music and lyrics complement each other perfectly.

Only Our Hearts from KOTB one of Paul's great love songs.

Listen to the song they sing,
                  Awakening

I'd have to agree, especially on the last three!

Gotta disagree with you. For my money, My Valentine is his best love song since Maybe I'm Amazed.

When I think of the quintessential Paul ?love? song, I am thinking the slow ballad with of course ?l-l-l-love? as the theme?. And the piano at the forefront. One of these should be a prerequisite of/for every album he releases, in my opinion. Maybe I?m Amazed (the live version) is naturally his best example since The Beatles, even if I prefer the original raunchier version?. My Love is another great example? I don?t think he has put anything out since which betters those two?. Only Love Remains tried hard. I do like that one. I reckon Beautiful Night qualifies. I really, really like that one. My Valentine lacks melody for me. And Motor of Love is just too much of a constipated effort. Again, I do think one of his slow love ballads is sadly, sadly missing from New.

Oh, and whilst there is no major discernible piano, I do think "Through Our Love" is a beauty. Afterthought: Actually, this is probably my fave Paul "ballad" of the 80's. With No More Lonely Nights, of course.

'This Never Happened Before' is probably the most recent of Paul's love songs to be up amongst his best.

Is "Letting Go" a love song ? it sounds pretty orgasmic and lusty ....Oh I feel like Letting Go , he certainly likes the women in the song . It struck me today that Coming Up is a quirky love song , never really considered it to be a love song but the lyric is all about love . Some more I've listened to today that I really like : Winedark Open Sea l'm Carrying Long Haired Lady Don't Let It Bring You Down Step Inside Love Loveliest Thing Through Our Love Not listened to Through Our Love for ages but it's a stunner so lush and his voice is brilliant it should have been a single reminds me a bit of a Scott Walker song
