Don't you agree that this tune is so wonderful and strong? the tune is unforgettable...romantic and rocking ... the name of the song is not important ... or we can consider it after his daughter....after all Paul composed the track before thinking of a name to it... This is one of the gems that was in the underrated album "Driving Rain" I am sure this tune will be immortalized... one of the best of all tunes in this decade .

      Love is all you need

I don't think he'd write a romantic song about his daughter

"Jimmy was a cool guitar player. Henry (McCullough) had been too, but Jimmy seemed a bit special." - Paul McCartney

Yeah. It's interesting that this is the second song of this name written by Paul. The first one being his 1968 collaboration with Donovan. The one found on Driving Rain is quite unusual structure wise with one one verse of vocals.

It certainly is a beautiful tune, one of my favorite off of that record. "Driving Rain" as a whole still doesn't do much to me personally, but it does have its moments ("Lonely Road", "Magic", "About You", "Heather", "Your Loving Flame", "Rinse The Raindrops").

Not one of my faves from Driving Rain, but Ive listened to It quite a bit today as Its 8 years today scince It was released !! Overall a very underated LP...only faults 2 or 3 songs too long & some dodgy vocals.

I don't know why, but for some reason I've always viewed it as 'Her Majesty' comes full circle...I think simply based on the lines in the one verse

I'm a sucker for Driving Rain too. I like it for the same reason lots of people dislike it. I like the fact it's a bit of the mess - and this is one of the reasons I love The White Album too. Driving Rain is a great album to listen to when you are getting ready to go out for a night out.

It's an amazing song, one of the best on Driving Rain, it's a shame it's called like that, but that doesn't stop from being a great song.

America wasn't lucky to see and hear it live in '02 like our European friends did in '03.

i don't like the part where he sighs and intones the name 'heather' in a long drawn out manner.

It was definitely played on the Euro leg of the Driving Rain tour. It replaced the slot previously occupied by "Your Loving Flame." It might be on the Back In The World live-album, as well.
