I got my bluray in the mail yesterday and I just have to say there are NO issues with ANYTHING! The picture is incredible, the sound blows away the Wings Over America CDs. There is no comparison to the CDs at all! The bass is tremendous, the drums are pounding, you can hear every instrument perfectly. There are no drop outs, nothing. The movie looks and sounds better than it ever has. You people are hallucinating and making s*^t up if you think this disc has audio problems! It's more likely your player or TV connections. Ever hear of an HDMI cable? Well done MPL!

I dont know what your on about mate but seriously if you cant hear the defects on the disc your deaf. Your post is incredibly condescending to those which this problem matters to. The problem is everywhere . Even on songs like blackbird one minute you can hear him plucking the lower strings then nothing then its back then its gone again. The drop outs are everywhere . The problem is everywhere the sheer amount of people who have this issue tells me its everywhere but those who dont just dont have great hearing. It would be different if it was just one of two people but its many many. For your information I personally have nothing special just PS3 via HDMI into my TV. I hear the issue on the 5.1 mix and the stereo. In my opinion I think its an issue relating to the authoring of the master onto the discs. I hope its fixed soon as its very disconcerting .

My blu-ray is just fine as well, and so is my hearing. Sorry you got a bad disc but that doesn't mean that EVERYBODY in the world got a defective disc.

I just went back and listened to Blackbird after you specified a certain song and once again found no issue with anything dropping in and out from the audio. I would also like to think that I have "good enough hearing" while trying to listen for a certain defect that does not arise that I know what I am talking about. I am not doubting there are issues with some of the discs, but that doesn't mean everyone who doesn't hear it must have bad hearing because it is also possible not every copy was affected.

I think there has been some confusion here at no time does the audio drop out. The bass drops down in volume this has been referred to as a drop out. Blackbird is but one occasion where this happens. Another biggie is when Paul starts singing the first verse of letting go. If you dont have good speakers or a trained ear you may not notice it. I played it to a family member who couldn't pick it. When I pointed it out they could. I apologise for calling you deaf but I still do believe this issue is near on everywhere. Its been taken very seriously by the label and several major retailers such as amazon both in the US and UK.

Ignoring the possible dropouts, the sound is much better and more pleasant to listen to on the DVD than on the CD. The bass is much better embedded and has some bottom.

I saw RS in a theater in Boulder in May, and the mix seemed to be fine. Surround was there (mostly crowd between songs), but not prominent, as is often the case for decades-old live shows remastered for the 21st century. That said, there was no problem with low end (although it wasn't deep, but was typical of many live recordings at the time). But the backing vocals were practically non-existent, and it wasn't just to avoid any particular band member. When Denny or Jimmy sang lead, you could hardly hear any of Macca's harmonies. I have the original Laserdisc (stereo, obviously), and this is a new development. It makes me wonder if they put the harmonies (and, possibly, much of the low end) into mono and push them out through the surround channels. Then, depending on how one's equipment mixes those channels for playback, or the surround volume, that material becomes difficult to hear, with what sound like occasional drop outs due to phasing issues. It would seem inefficient to manufacture more than one version of a video/soundtrack. In any case, last week Amazon relisted the Blu-Ray, so I took a chance...I figure, at worst, if I get a defective copy, I have a collector's item! When I checked my order today, Amazon is once again no longer selling the Blu-Ray (but they still list the DVD!). So...my question is, has anyone simply downloaded the $13 electronic version? That might be a way to find out if there is a good mix out there. Presumably, Eagle Rock would have the most recent version available for download.

Now who's being condescending? I agree that Randy was wrong to say some of the things he did, but to suggest that those of us who have had no problems with the disc are basically deaf is rather harsh, don't you think?

I agree with Nancy... I'm NOT deaf Looks like the Blue Ray is the way to go, still going to wait a bit!

The bass drop-out/cancellation problem is real, not imaginary -- although it depends on how good your system and/or ears are to hear it. It's still unclear whether ALL discs were affected or just some of them. The good news is that people on the Steve Hoffman forum are reporting excellent customer service from Eagle Rock, they are receiving replacement DVDs and BluRays, and the problem HAS been fixed. Send an email to custsvc@eaglerockent.com with a copy of your receipt, and hopefully you will hear from Kristen, who appears to be taking charge of this whole thing. People have been getting replacements in as little as a few days, depending on where you live.

Just for my own curiosity, I'm hoping someone will make a comparison/contrast video for YouTube. I need to train my ear for these things.

That is great news. Just played my Blu-Ray copy with my new sound system. The dropout is far more noticeable. I know I wasn't imagining it. Thanks for sharing.

I received my daily pop market daily deal email and it was for a deluxe WOA deluxe package, vinyl/blu ray/dvd etc. so i'm reading the description from it and it says this,i copied and pasted it: If you notice, it says"Second run editions with corrected audio"I assume there are new copies being released out there, or maybe you can contact them for a replacement.so this does ease my mind that you can get another corrected copy. ROCKSHOW Blu-ray and DVD each feature: ? Restored original 35mm film available for the first time! ? Complete full length concert ? 28 songs ? DTS-HD Master Audio, LPCM Stereo ? Hardback book packaging ? Bonus Feature: A Very Lovely Party ? on tour with Paul McCartney & Wings ? 32-page book with rare photos and an informative essay from rock critic Paul Gambaccini ? Total running time: 139 mins approx. ? Second run editions with corrected audio

I just got Rockshow on Blu- ray and on first listen seems OK- great sound & picture in fact. I usually buy anything Macca straight away had put off getting it for a little while just in case the problem was with first production run.

Listen to the song they sing,

I bought my Rock Show DVD in the U.S.A. at Best Buy and it also suffered from the terrible bass dropouts and general "phasing" of sound so I sent it back to Eagle Vision in the U.K. They replaced it rather quickly and the DVD I got in return is magnificent! I even made an audio rip of the show and listen to it all the time in my car while driving. It's like having an alternate "Wings Over America" album! If you have one with any issues at all please feel free to exchange it for a non-defective one. You won't regret it!

I watched this full-length upload of Rockshow on YouTube, and for those who still question the tech issues, the bass drops out of the mix many, many, many times throughout this entire concert:

Funny enough, though -- you can't really detect this issue when listening via headphones.

This is going to sound silly. I never watched my Blu-ray copy because I went to watch it in the movies, on tv, and listened to the CD copy that I never got passed opening it. Now, reading all this, I want to check mine out...

I noticed the audio issues, and got a replacement DVD from Eagle Rock. Unfortunately the DVD I got still has the sudden fade ins and fade outs I had noticed on the first copy I got. These are some of the many spots where I notice this sudden fade ins and outs: 3:06 4:47 5:52 1:50:45 1:52:39 1:54:27 Should I assume that all discs have these same issues and that they are due to the original recording?
