I got a lot of new books for xmas, so whilst clearing out the shelves to make room this afternoon i came across Paul's paintings book, hadn't looked in it for ages! What do people think of his work, and did anyone go to his exhibition in liverpool 10 years ago? http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/walker/exhibitions/mccartney/ We went, it was great to see his work in person, remember reading the visitors book though that wasn't very kind in most parts (one comment that stuck in mind was "if you want to see decent art go next door to Turners exhibition"!). I guess i admit if it wasn't Paul i wouldn't have gone, but i really like some (like Egypt station, and yellow linda).

I have a few of his "faces" from the book hanging in my bathroom! They just kind of look at you while you...are in there.

So jealous... This is one event in life, that I'm so sorry I never knew about and missed... Does anyone know how many paintings there are?

I'm so glad we went, it felt weird but special to be wandering around looking at his actual paintings, can't believe it was 10 years ago! I bought the book from a cheap book shop (£4!!!) a year later, but they had loads of stuff on sale on at the exhibition - i still have a mug and a pen that say "The ART of Paul McCARTney, we wanted a print of "Egypt Station" and also a programme for the event but it was all too expensive, so just bought the cheapos 😉 Wish he'd do another exhibtion

I like some of the paintings--very modern art. I don't like the one that is often shown in articles about Paul's work, the one that graces the cover of the painting book. I remember reading an article about a telephone company guy who was repairing phones or testing the line or something in one of the buildings on Paul's property, and he commented that the walls were loaded with paintings that he assumed had been done by a child...

I have been thinking that canvas with wrap around edges is the way to go... Thought of doing a small grouping of four to start...I like the Electric Arguments painting as well... Egypt station would look good on a large canvas. So how do the canvases hold up in the bathroom ? Do tell, which ones you have, nosey people want to know Wish there was another exhibit as well...a Linda and Paul exhibit would be so amazing too I wonder if there are some paintings, that match up with Linda's photos... Winchelsea comes to my mind as one I've seen both Paul and Linda do...

I'll have to take a pic of them. I'll try to post them tomorrow. They are fine & have been there for a few years. I framed them & they are behind glass. But my material is outdoor material so it would hold up even IN the shower... wait. Those are the Paul pics...no just kidding.

There are 83 in the book http://www.maccafan.net/Library/Paintings/Paintings.htm They are still available on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Paul-McCartney-Paintings/dp/0821226738/ref=sr_1_fed0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356731563&sr=8-1&keywords=paul+mccartney+books

There must be more... Some of my favs are Robot Star, the Twin Freaks album cover (I always wonder how big that painting really is?) and Boxer Lips... i wonder if I can get a high quality photo printed up larger on canvas... Have been thinking about that for a while....

yes...that is what I did for my pics that I framed. I have a large format printer that prints on canvas. al Sabah...yes on purpose...was no accident!

I think you might have a great idea there....

I printed a pic 4' tall for a friend & I think she may be using it as a blanket.

I like this idea "Where's my blankie..." So what do you think about my idea for Beatles car seat covers... Baby you can Drive My Car, while sitting in the lap of your favourite Beatle How big is that printer?
