I had preordered the Vinyl of "New" and recently got an email from Amazon saying it has been delayed until November. Anyone have any idea why it is being delayed?

It's no good asking me what time of day it is, who won the match, or scored the goal

I have no specifics on this release. But it's been the situation some long time that the resurgence of vinyl as a medium has embarrassed both the world vinyl record production plant capacity and supplies of the raw materials. That's been the case several years now, but as an entrepreneur would you invest heavily in new machinery and sourcing raw material for what may just be a momentary fad? Martin

Well, there must be enough vinyl collectors out there that other artists release their vinyl the same day. For instance, Elton John's wonderful new album called "The Diving Board" was available on CD and Vinyl the same day, ironically on Capitol Records.

Take your digital download to a 3-D printing store and get them to run you off an LP.

Any idea if you still get your auto rip on the day of CD release and the vinyl comes later? I really want the vinyl and the fact you get the MP3s with Amazon is a huge sell for me. I am just hoping I don't have to wait until Nov 15.

OK I contact Amazon and they said The AutoRip goes by the actual pre-ordered item, even if other versions or formats are released earlier. So, if you order vinyl only you have to wait until Nov 15 to get the auto rip. Which I guess makes sense. They don't want people cancelling orders after getting the mp3s and before the item ships.

I ordered the Deluxe CD and they said the download is available when the mp3 is released on Oct. 15th. We shall see.

ordered the New vinyl yesterday, said Nov 15 for me also. damn thats a long way off... most of the time when you buy an LP these days they come with a little loose bit of paper in the packaging that has a code printed on it, that code is the free download code you need to enter at iTunes or Amazon to download the MP3s.. probably how it will work this time too, which means 11/15...

This is poor . This is hardly going to help his chart performance. I've already got the deluxe CD , but have been waiting patiently for the LP. I also saw it as a good opportunity to to my bit in increasing Paul's album sales...

I thought all formats for new albums usually are released at the same time or within a couple weeks of each other to keep the promotion going(?). I wouldn't be surprised if it got cancelled now.

This is getting a bit silly now. Pretty much each and every week since the original release date of this vinyl edition I have received an update from Amazon advising that the release has been put back to the following week. The release is currently set for 9th December. I have the strangest feeling that another update will arrive in my inbox at the end of this week, and I can bet (see what I did there?) what it's contents will be. Interestingly, the same thing seems to be happening to the vinyl edition of the Live at the BBC Vol. 2 album. Never had an issue with a vinyl release like this before. I order vinyl editions with many of the albums I buy and they are invariably released on the same day as the standard editions. Vinyl sales are at a ten year high, but I can't imagine (ooh look, I did it again!) the demand for these particular albums is so great that they've had to put the release back nearly two months!
