Smile Away: would have been another #1 smash after Uncle Albert Back Seat of my Car: would have been another #1 smash after Smile Away Girl's School: should have been released without attached to Mull of Kintyre So Glad To See You Here: should have been the first single from BTTE

Funny, Back Seat of My Car and Smile Away are two of the main reasons I refused to own a copy of Ram for over 40 years. My top underappreciated McCartney song is Single Pigeon. A close second is Feet in the Clouds.

I to thought it was odd about Girls School. I hunted that thing down down when it came out -- what '78, '79? I listened to Mull of Kintyre and was rather unimpressed, and was taken aback to find out Mull was a worldwide smash. Also taken aback the "Girls School" only got airplay in the US.

"Sweet, Sweet Memories" "Mumbo Jumbo" "Tomorrow" "Lindiana" "Daytime Nightime Suffering" "World Tonight" "Too Much Rain" "My Little Koala" (seems a bit like a slight throwaway, but it's smooth and endearing) "I Love This House" "Souvenir" "Style, Style" "Ebony and Ivory" "English Tea" "Mama's Little Girl" Oh there are lots more. More later

I think we guessed that he's written about 800 or so songs, so he's bound to have more than a few gems!

Maybe it's because I have a soft spot for Tug of War, but I've always thought Take it Away is one of his best singles that doesn't get a lot of love. Also from that album, Somebody Who Cares (gorgeous) and Ballroom Dancing (fun and catchy as hell, and that bass!)

Thank you, I agree totally and "Take It Away"is one of the songs I would love to hear him do live especially with this band.

                  Maybe I'm amazed !!

A thread I recently started on the under-appreciated Paul song that I love, "I'll Give You a Ring", has got me thinking about all the songs Paul has written that are hardly known or do not get enough appreciation. What songs in particular do you find are under-appreciated? What makes them good songs in your opinion? And why do you think they are not well-known or more appreciated? Would love to hear other people's thoughts and opinions!

I know McCartney gave it to the Everly Brothers but I think "On The Wings Of A Nightengale" is a gem and not well known.

                    Maybe I'm amazed !!

It would be great, especially if he got a live horn section again. Can't believe he doesn't do that anymore!

The most under-apreciated Paul songs are: (in order of under-apreciation, lol) 1- His classical music pieces and songs (Celebration, Gratia, Save The Child...) 2- His unreleased songs 3- His solo stuff (compared to The Beatles stuff) Probably Gratia is the most underapreciated thing he has done, maybe the best music piece of THIS CENTURY and probably more than 90 % of Paul fans don't even know it. Because when I say Gratia here, as one of his best, some boardies use to write "Gratia, what's Gratia?" Paul-Gratia
