Paul's Staying Power: Genuinely Nice or Persona?

I'm sure even Linda would have said that their married life was not perfect. I think they at times referred to it as 'marital blitz.'

Marital blitz now that is an interesting choice of words. LOL

While I don't think Paul is perfect (almost perfect, but not perfect), I think he has the PR routine down to perfection and he is an excellent business man. He gets us to keep on buying the same stuff over and over... I have heard stories of how rude Paul can be if one plays fan during his private time. However, I totally get that. Paul deserves private time away from fans, especially the wack jobs and they are out there. Paul and Linda sure seem to have done a pretty good job with their kids. But nobody is perfect. Paul has a great personality and it shows.

I would say geniunely nice but with human flaws like the rest of us.

yep i read the same thing well maybe not exactly the same but close. I read that Paul was so angry at one fan that he actually yelled at her and refused her gift, after she ignored a roadie's warning about not bothering him. i think it was during a time where he received some bad news about Linda's prognosis. Then again i guess that it was her fault, because it wasn't like she hasn't been warned beforehand. i read this account in the book Fab. .After reading that makes me kinda apprehensive about trying to meet Paul especially when i don't know what type of mood he might be in . i wouldn't want Mr Macca ripping me a new one. LOL i learned a valuable lesson from that story is that if you don't want to see another side of Paul that isn't so nice don't bother him especially when someone warns you.

Then, we would get along perfectly. They are people first, then musicians. I don't do fawning.

Am I the only person who really doesn't care if he's a "genuine" nice guy or not? I'm here for the music. (Trust me if that actually mattered, there would be no way I could be a Prince fan.)

You can't bring out of you what isn't in you. This sounds like a poem. I believe there is genuine goodness inside of him along with lots of other things, mischief, etc.

I could never be a fan of someone if I knew they were an a$$hole or something. (I mean a huge fan like I am of Paul and The Beatles) I could, as you say, appreciate the music of someone who is not that likeable. But I'd never be a fan of theirs.

Well I'm glad he's not a serial killer. But I'm sure he's done his share of mean, selfish things in his life, and hearing about them wouldn't stop me from appreciating his music. I'm equally sure that he's had moments of great generosity and kindness. Like any of us, I expect he has days when he's genuinely nice and days when he's not. I know I have both kinds of days. I can be downright evil in rush hour traffic. And I don't have the temptations of massive fame encouraging me to be selfish. He seems to be doing all right, all things considered.
