what Paul or Beatle songs are like "New" ?
-
Which Paul and Beatle songs remind you of his new single "New," and why? Thanks for your thoughts.
-
ummmmmmm.......??
-
Some of it reminds me of English Tea
-
to me, primarily "good day sunshine" then as most others have noted - "got to get you into my life" and "penny lane" why? similar beat, similar vocal style, similar rhythm.
-
The notes at the beginning of the song, before the song starts reminds me of the intro to The Beatles 1960s Saturday Morning Cartoon. Lyrically, I agree with "Got To Get You Into My Life". I hear a combination of "Fine Line" also. The fade-back-in at the end reminds me of "We All Stand Together" (AKA The Frong Song). I want to start singing "Win or Lose Sink or Swim, one thing is certain we'll never give in..." Podgie (Is this song really NEW?) Monkey
-
The "do-do-do" part at the end reminds me of similar parts in "Daytime Nightime Suffering" and "Wonderful Christmastime" much more than the Beach Boys.
-
Sounds like "New" sounds fantastic I'm so depraved oops I mean deprived...haven't heard it yet
-
Getting Better.
-
Woo Woo "Getting Better" Wow, this song is "getting better" all the time, better and better, seeming more and more appealing
-
"Return to Pepperland" ! Now we know why he never released it when he released most of the 87/88 "lost songs" as B-Sides
-
Why haven't you listened to it???

Vintage Clothes I thought

Why haven't you listened to it???
Come again?
-
Sounds in the vein of "Penny Lane," the edge of "Stranglehold" and the sing-songyness of "Love Mix"
-
I know it's not a Beatles song, but New actually reminds of Denny's "Say You Don't Mind", esp the "what I do, what I did, stupid fish I drank the pool" bit.
-
I thought a mixture of Penny Lane & Got to Get You into My Life.

She was directing that to Susy, not you.
-
I can hear vestiges of both Got To Get You Into My Life as well as Penny Lane.

My family, who has endured decades of me playing Beatles and Paul CDs nonstop, did not believe me when I told them that New was new. I love it, but it doesn't sound very new.
