Great idea! Somehow it doesn't surprise me that he would finally sit down on film for a video with some real Blues musicians from down this way.

Just in time for the U.S. Tour. Maybe it can find its way into tonight's setlist in Pittsburgh. Nice video!

This is Paul's best music video ever. Period. It actually choked me up. Just beautiful. And perhaps not a coincidence that they built a video mainly around black characters in what seems to be the rural south, just as the U.S. is reliving the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act and the struggles and pain of Freedom Summer. Planned or not, it's a nice touch.

Couldn't agree with you more, Bruce. Early Days is, in my opinion, the best song on NEW and I'm glad they took their time to make a really good relevant video. Hopefully, Paul will sing it "live" on the tour. I would put this video up with Pipes of Peace and Coming Up as Paul's best.

Stunning video. Just beautiful. Not that I agree that the one for Appreciate is mediocre. I"m excited we got two great narrative videos in a row from Paul. parlance

Nicely said. I have liked the other (real) videos from this album, but this one was quite a labor of love.

I agree as well - I think the only other video that competes (in terms of being so touching) is Little Willow...but this is right up there

When I first posted earlier on this topic, I did not post that the video made me cry, but it did. I did not want to appear too emotional. It is beautiful. Actually it is so moving I have only watched it once as I am hyper sensitive. Great job.

Despite the burst of social media activity, the video only has about 33,000 views. Let's hope people keep spreading the word. I'd love to see all the recent activity bring the album back onto the charts in the U.S.

Omg, what an amazingly fantastic video! Love it! It's so cool how it gives an insight to those moments of budding friendship and the random moments that lead to musical energy. I'm so touched and impressed by this video. Bravo to Paul for avoiding the obvious choice of showing young musicians in late 50's Liverpool. The nod to his own roots -the blues of the American South- is pure genius. Yet the parallels to his own experience are unmistakable. The sense of loss at the funeral makes me think of how Paul and John both bonded through the loss of their own mothers. I feel very bad that I dissed this song in an earlier post as being somewhat "lame". (The little musical interlude that bridges the verses is the only part I think is strong enough melodically. Hints of Mother Nature's Son in a GOOD way.) I do admire the spirit and the intentions of this song, I think it's heart is totally in the right place. Despite my reservations for this song I do wish it all the best and I hope it brings Paul great success.
