What....not again!!

So.....I will have to buy TWO Deluxe CD's to get all the FOUR extra bonus tracks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here we go again Ripoff Mccartney...he does this all the time....we are in a worldwide recession you know........As a lifelong fan I am pissed right off with this!
-
It's not like he's just started doing this: I recently got my hands on a Japanese import of Flowers In The Dirt, which had an entire extra disc. Also, throughout the '90s, Macca's bonus tracks often ended up as B-sides on CD-singles. Since "physical" singles are now virtually a thing of the past, this new strategy of various versions of the album is the new norm.

Audi I know ....I have missed out on alot of material over the years (since 197
because I refuse to "double buy" tracks. It's wrong....just wrong!
-
I'm afraid you even have to buy more than two to get all the extras... Thank Berners-Lee for digital downloads, legal or otherwise.

Nobodytoldme.........could you explain.....

Admittedly, I lost count on all the versions of Kisses... last year. Got a bit confusing.

...........................is there a reason why Macca cannot release ALL the tracks on a double CD WORLD wide? ..am I the only one angry about this
?

I, for one, can't think of one.

Yes, you're the only one angry.
Just kidding! I'm PO'd too!

It's all WAY too confusing!! And I think it can actually diminish sales. Not only because it gets to be too expensive, but also simply because it is quite tiring trying to figure out all the variations and is easier to just skip the whole thing!
-
Hmm. This just doesn't bother me. Lots of artists release multiple versions. And no one is forced to buy any of them. It's not that hard to look for the best deal, buy the version you want, and be done with it.
-
Why the moaning? It used to be common practice that singles would come out and you'd buy them and then the album would come out and you'd buy them too, and the single would be on it. The Beatles were the only ones who stopped that practice. Hence the 2 CD Past Masters. But it never stopped Capitol from putting all the singles on the albums in the U.S. Deluxe CD's are just a continuation of this practice. So you have to buy more than one disc, maybe with a little different art work, to get all the songs! Who cares?

Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web and consequently opened the whole can of illegal download file sharing worms. Please note our position statement on any attempt to share unauthorised file sharing details here: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2727076&highlight=#2727076 That naturally extends beyond early leaks to all other forms of filesharing of tracks, albums etc etc Martin

In theory a US/UK/Euro version and a French version should give you the 4 extra tracks? The Japanese version possibly has the 4 extra tracks included but probably costs more than double. So why would you need to buy more than two versions?

That would be enough to get all the extra songs, but the Best Buy exclusive version supposedly has other extras (photo cards, badge) without any bonus tracks.
I also wouldn't be surprised if other things pop up, perhaps on a vinyl 45 B-side or an official download or something. Say, the acoustic improv of "New" or other live tracks or remixes, or even other studio tracks. We've seen two different color schemes for the cover art, so I might get suckered into buying multiple versions due to that. I still think an acceptable plan is to get the Walmart CD version, which has three bonus tracks, and then get the other ("Secret Life of a Party Girl") as an iTunes download (if they don't make you pay for the whole album to get it!). Target still does not have "New" in any format whatsoever on their website, so I'm still hoping for an all-encompassing exclusive from them (as they're doing with Elton John's new one).

As a rule I am not a "moaner" on this site. I am a lifelong fan. My complaint is that I should not have to buy multiple CD's to get all the tracks!!!! And I stand by my view.......................this is just a way to make more money from the die hard fans. I personally cannot afford to go out and buy two CD's to make sure I get all the bonus tracks. And I am perfectly aware of the "release a single with a B-side NOT on the the up and coming LP" trick. It p***ed me off then and still does now......"who cares"??...well I do!!!

I should not have to buy TWO versions!!!!

Whatever happened to just releasing an LP or CD and letting people buy it? I am going to hold out and wait before I buy anything. I need to see what all the "extra" tracks are like, what people think, reviews, and even if NEW concert dates are announced for the USA before I put down my hard earned money.
-
I agree with Sarah. There's way too many versions of the New album! I too would like to buy one album/collection and have all the new material Paul is releasing. At the most he should release a single single disc version with just the 12 albums tracks, the another version with the albums and a bonus disc with all the other tracks. Really though , ONE release is the way to go. Jeez, Paul's rolling in it so much that he could afford give away the bonus tracks. I actually believe if he was cool like that it would only boost sales. So can anybody tell me which version will have the most on it? That's the one I will buy. Then, honestly, I will look to download the others for free and not feel guilty about it one bit.

Sorry if I missed the announcement somewhere, but could someone please break down all of the different versions and where we must attain them from so I don't lose my mind on October 15th
