I have listened to the 2012 remaster of Ram and I have to reevaluate my opinion. I think it is in the top 5 of all his albums. A classic! The musicianship and vocals are amazing! Linda's contribution cannot be understated either, and it is appropriate that it is the only one of his albums by Paul and Linda McCartney!

Ram has always been one of my favorite Macca albums. The musicianship is tight and Pauls vocals are superb. In my opinion it is a great album with a good mix of rockers and ballads.

I always came back to the songs he was singing,
        At any particular time

I think his vocal work on Wings Over America is hands down his best singing ever!

Ah RAM, one of my favorite albums of all-time by anyone, Beatles-related or otherwise. The singing is certainly fantastic but for me it's the whole thing that makes it a masterpiece. The songs, the instrumentation, the playing, the singing, the production, the artwork...he managed to make a record in some top studios in the US sound like it had a lot of rough-hewn homemade feeling to it. For me, it's the perfect blend of production between the lo-fi home recordings of McCartney and the slicker studio stuff.
